All reporting has been received including final external audit. The contribution is set up as an emergency response to the threat of Lumpy Skin Disease (LSD) in cattle that arose in 2016. In 2017, Sida approved usage of most of the fund to purchase about 150.000 doses of vaccine which arrived in August 2017. During 2017, ca 55% of these were distributed and vaccinations carried on in 2018. Based on expert recommendations, it was decided to use the remaining vaccine doses in a more high-risk area of the country in 2018. Most of the remaining vaccines were distributed in the higher risk area in 2018. About 37.000 doses were never used as they expired in May. This was partly due to the fact that the country didn't adopt the plan for 2018 vaccinations until the middle of March so the time frame for distributing the vaccines before they expired in 2018 was very short. In total, 48 % of the animals in the initial target area are vaccinated and 46 % of the animals in the higher risk zone that was targeted in 2018. The threat of LSD is not present anymore. The disease never spread to BiH and has been reduced in the entire region thanks to vaccination programs. According to final external audit report, all activities were finalized, and only a VAT amount of ca. 335 thousand SEK remained on project account. The amount was repaid and approved repayment condition as of December 16th.
The contribution funds purchase of vaccines against Lumpy Skin Disease in cattle. The objective is to protect animal health and prevent the disease from spreading in Bosnia and Hercegovina.
