Some key interventions included ensuring decent work for women through equal pay, maternity leave, and leadership opportunities. They have also supported legal reforms and invested in care services like nurseries, while also offering capacity-building programmes such as entrepreneurship training.\n\n- Gender has been mainstreamed into policies and budgets, backed by labor market research. Awareness campaigns, strategic partnerships and dedicated financial and in-kind support have further advanced womens economic empowerment initiatives.\n\n- The private sector enhanced its gender-responsiveness, as employers of over one million people (1,080,019) now have access to guidance and tools to foster a more equitable working environment. This is the result of 645 small, medium, and large companies in the MENA-region signing up to the Womens Empowerment Principles (WEPs) since the programmes inception. This represents a 271 per cent increase from the baseline of 174 WEPs signatories in 2018. The JP countries reached 305 WEPs signatories by the end of 2024 (Jordan 177, Egypt 108, Palestine 20 signatories), compared to 36 companies in 2018 (an increase of 747 per cent from the baseline).\n\n- Since the beginning of the programme, around 3,388,904 beneficiaries (57 per cent women and 43 per cent men) in Egypt, Jordan and Palestine accessed information to raise their knowledge on womens economic empowerment, unpaid care, jobs segregation, gender stereotypes and gender equality. \n\n- Since the JPs inception, at least 11,018 national partner representatives (75 per cent women and 25 per cent men) strengthened their capacities on womens economic empowerment, through intensive, specialized capacity-building programmes. Areas included gender responsive workplaces, gender-responsive budgeting (GRB), and women in leadership. In 2024 alone, 5,671 national partners increased their capacities, representing an increase of 66 per cent from 2023.\n\n- 3,182 women accessed job placements or are now self-employed. The JP facilitated these results by linking women to suitable work opportunities, through job fairs or direct job placement in non-traditional sectors like STEM and sports.
