This need comes from the fact that in spite of a peaceful transition of power for the first time in the Congolese history, a change of the executive and legislative leaders does not appear, for the time being, to translate into the provision of better governance\n\nThe project aims to stimulate and inform public debate around what real, transformative change would look like, and on the relationship between rulers and ruled more broadly. This will take place through research to generate evidence on key topics of public interest, as well as on the organisations that are supposed to be bridges between the population and the ruling elite: political parties and civil society organizations. CRG will also conduct a series of polls that seek to better understand public sentiment on issues related to administrative reform. In parallel, they will launch an online tracking system that allows citizens to see what their elected representatives are doing at both the legislative and the executive level. The project aims at understanding and promoting political accountability in DRC. During 2023 DRC hold elections (presidential, parliamentary and communal).\n\nThe work conducted included:\n\n- Support of Talatala, a website monitoring and analyzing parliamentary and government activities. \n\n- One opinion poll, published in December 2023, 18th just before the elections. The poll was seen by 50 000 people.\n\n- Two public forums to disseminate research and spark public debate:\n\n- One public opinion polling conducted by Ebuteli and the International Republican Institute regarding pre and post election trends. \n\n- Production of pod casts and other audio products\n\n- A voting advice tool was launched successfully\n\n- A series of blogs and media appearances on national politics\n\nCRG\u002FEbuteli have received positive feedback from parliamentarians and the broader public on both Talatala and Keba, while the  report and poll were widely cited in foreign and local press. The public forums were vibrant and brought topics to the forefront such as the perception of and challenges to the electoral process as well as voter trust, underscoring the crucial role of civil society in Congolese democracy.\n\nTalatala had 147 580 visitors at their website 2022 and 299 730 in 2023, an increase of 103,3 percent in one year. \n\nThe Utafiti Ya Amani component of the program focused on understanding and proposing solutions to the violent conflict that affects millions of Congolese during the period. Violence escalated in the eastern DRC, with the M23 rebellion intensifying, and the number of people displaced reaching 7 million.\n\nThe work conducted included:\n\nA series of blogs, media appearances, and podcasts focused on understanding, analyzing, and raising awareness\n\nA debate in Kinshasa focused on raising attention among decision-makers about the causes and responses to the conflict.\n\nSupport to the Kivu Security Tracker, an online tracker of violence in the eastern DRC.\n\nContinued coverage of the conflict dynamics in the Uele provinces with podcasts and blogs.\n\nEbuteli:\n\nOver the past two years, Ebuteli has increasingly become a reference center for civil society, international organizations and diplomatic missions on political and security issues. Ebuteli researchers are also regularly quoted and called upon to inform international media coverage of the DRC. This role proved particularly important during the electoral process and in covering the dynamics of conflict in eastern DRC. Ebuteli also continues to strengthen its engagement with Congolese institutions, in particular the central government, the National Assembly, and the CENI.\n\nEvery Friday Ebuteli and CRG publish a whatsapp clip with political analysis. CRG works with Internews and ABCom and through the 25 local radio stations the clip is broadcasted in 5 different languages, French and 4 local languages. \n\nCRG has also published research reports
