It is clear from interactions with other actors in the democracy support space, as well as other donors, that IFES is well respected and seen as one of the global leaders in electoral support.\n\nThe by Sida commissioned evaluation (realized 2024) of IFES' strategic plan (2019-2024), which Sida supports in major parts, was positive and showed that the flexible core support provided by Sida had been used in a conducive way and contributed to the success of the strategic plan. The results of the evaluation has also been instrumental in the development of IFES' new strategic plan for 2025-2029.\n\nIt is Sida's assessment that the core support has benefited IFES well and in the intended manner. It has allowed IFES to design and develop a variety of handbooks, outreach, and research that have benefited the organization on a global level - informing the country programming in diverse areas such as; inclusion (gender, youth, disabilities, indigenous peoples, LGBTQ etc), technology, corruption, conflict resolution, climate, and staff well-being. It has also allowed IFES to expand into new initiatives, including cyber security and resilience against online threats to free and fair elections.\n\nIt is also Sida's assessment that IFES have met the closure of USAID, and subsequent loss of a major part of their funding, in a constructive way that will allow the organisation to continue contributing positively, albeit on a smaller scale.\n\nAn
