The SDPs structured and mobilized CLACSOs extensive network of members and partners around six thematic areas: inequality and poverty; democracy, human rights and peace; social movements and activism; rights, violence and gender equality; environment, climate change and social development; and migration and human mobility. \n\nIn the framework of the SDPs, working groups were established to collaborate across education, research, publication, communication, and network-building activities. A distinctive feature of the SDPs was their multi-stakeholder composition, bringing together academics, representatives of social movements, and public policy actors. This configuration strengthened the translation of research and knowledge into concrete contributions aimed at improving the living conditions of vulnerable populations and addressing structural forms of oppression. The SDPs were implemented for the first time under this contribution, and by the end of the activity period CLACSO assessed the experience as successful, formally adopting the SDPs as the guiding methodology for its institutional operations within its 2025-2028 strategic plan.\n\nIn terms of knowledge production (result 1), CLACSO established 87 working groups and 6 special groups within the six SDPs, mobilizing a total of 5,641 participants, of whom 54% were women and 31% young people. Participants represented academia (55.6%), social movements (36%), and public policy actors (29%). These groups developed 124 research projects involving 393 researchers and engaged 25 civil society organizations and social movements. As a result of this work, 146 plans and action guidelines were designed with the explicit aim of influencing public policy processes. CLACSO further reports that the contribution enabled it to consolidate its role as a regional reference in the defense of open access to knowledge. Between 2022 and 2025, CLACSO published 350 open-access books, involving more than 4,380 authors from Latin America and the Caribbean, which generated over 800,000 downloads and more than 8,000 citations in Google Scholar.\n\nRegarding the development of skills and competencies (result 2), 14,764 students from 40 countries participated in virtual and in-person educational processes. Over the project period, 1,968 full scholarships were awarded across 346 educational programs, including masters degrees, diplomas, seminars, international schools, and other training modalities. Participants were predominantly women and gender-diverse individuals (59%), with a strong focus on youth (34%). In terms of professional background, 68% were academics, 17% representatives of social movements, and 15% public policy actors.\n\nTo promote exchange and collaboration among academics, social movements, and public policy practitioners (result 3), CLACSO implemented a wide range of multi-stakeholder forums, conferences, and meetings, while also ensuring the joint participation of these actors in training programs. These spaces convened 30,160 in-person participants and 363,000 virtual participants, of whom 52% were women and 33% young people. Half of the participants came from academia, while 25% represented social movements and 25% public policy institutions.\n\nIn the area of communication and advocacy (result 4), CLACSO produced 2,330 videos, reaching more than 11 million views, and generated over 4 million interactions on social media. Its website registered 6.9 million unique visits, and 429 press articles were published in national and international media, significantly amplifying the visibility and reach of project results.\n\nSeveral concrete examples illustrate the outcomes achieved. CLACSO contributed to the positioning of care as a key issue on the regional public agenda through research on care systems and fiscal policies in seven Latin American countries, carried out in partnership with UN Women, Oxfam, and the Mercosur Public Policy Institute. This work was complemented by technical assistance to Cuban authorities supporting the approval of a new law establishing the National System for Life Care, as well as technical training provided to 350 public servants in Honduras and Guatemala on care policies.\n\nDuring the project period, CLACSO also established more than 30 open-access libraries in partnership with leading universities and research institutions in the region, enabling it to play a key role as co-organizer of the Global Summits on Diamond Open Access in 2023 and 2024. In parallel, CLACSO led the consolidation of the Knowledge Network on the Right to Education from the Global South, in collaboration with organizations from Africa and the Middle East.\n\nThe partner highlights the impact of the 9th and 10th Latin American and Caribbean Conferences on Social Sciences, organized by CLACSO in Mexico City in 2022 and Bogotá in 2025, respectively. These conferences brought together more than 43,000 in-person participants and 400,000 virtual participants and were catalytic in strengthening collaboration within the SDPs and deepening linkages among academics, social movements, and public authorities. A particularly significant result of these conferences was the advancement of work on academic freedom, including the production of research that informed the development of a regional roadmap in collaboration with the Coalition for Academic Freedom of the Americas.\n\nFinally, CLACSOs participation in the CELAC Ministerial Meeting provided a platform to advocate for the recognition of higher education as a human right and a public good, and to convey knowledge generated through the SDPs to ministers and high-level authorities. Across these activities, a strong and consistent focus was placed on Indigenous, Afro-descendant, and rural populations and movements, through targeted research projects, dedicated conferences, and
