This enabled coordinated action in four strategic areas: protected area management, capacity building and research, community outreach, and resource mobilization. \n\nAn 80% progress was achieved in automating the licensing process for forest resource utilization under the National Council of Protected Areas (CONAP), marking a significant step toward the automation, simplification, and streamlining of procedures. \n\nLocal counterparts were strengthened, including PROPETEN, which received support for the development of its strategic plan, as well as ACOFOP, which was assisted in developing its communication plan and updating its gender strategy.\n\nThe productivity and competitiveness of FORESCOM, the industrial and commercial arm of the Peten Forest Concessions, was strengthened, through the donation of a sawmill, which enabled the doubling of its production capacity It is important to highlight that forest management within the forest concessions is a successful model that involves communities, government institutions, and international cooperation. Moreover, all management activities are certified under the standards of the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC).\n\nTwenty one Community Forest Fire Commissions (CIFC) were reactivated, trained and some of them equipped, leading to a decrease in incidents due to the implementation of the Early Warning System for Forest Fires (SATIF), social control mechanisms, and community burning schedules.\n\nThe establishment of 16 agroforestry and silvopastoral systems was promoted, covering 90 hectares and benefiting 16 producers, who are now part of an ecological connectivity strategy.  61.79 hectares were linked to the National Forest Institute (INAB) incentive programs.\n\nA cost and profitability analysis tool for agroforestry systems was developed, enabling an initial assessment of their financial viability and potential for banking integration.\n\nIn regenerative agriculture, workshops, technical exchanges, and prospecting initiatives were conducted in collaboration with Texas Tech University and Escuela Panamericana El Zamorano.\n\nAn Integrated Solid Waste Management Program (GIRS) was successfully developed for the Lake Petén Itzá Commonwealth, which includes the municipalities of San José, San Andrés, Flores, San Francisco, San Benito, and Santa Ana. Complementary actions were undertaken to support the program, including a Green Business assessment aimed at fostering sustainable economic opportunities, infrastructure diagnostics to identify suitable sites for final waste disposal, and waste characterization studies in key municipalities. These efforts generated essential data, enhanced municipal planning capacities, and laid the foundation for sustainable solid waste management strategies tailored to the regions environmental and socioeconomic context, while also facilitating the identification of viable financing options.\n\nThe Community Tourism Roundtable of Petén was established, bringing together 23 organizations and institutions, which formulated a 2025 strategic agenda and facilitated the exchange of experiences in regenerative tourism and ecotourism models.\n\nSupport for entrepreneurial activities was also provided, with six practical entrepreneurship training workshops focused in  financial and entrepreneurial terminology, business plan development, and digital skills enhancement. A total of 43 young individuals participated. Each workshop lasted 17 hours, totaling 51 hours of training across all entrepreneurship modules. \n\nShort term technical training programs in tourism services were implemented.  A total of 84 individuals received training, 73% of whom were women. Additionally, 143 individuals received coaching in soft skills such as self esteem, vocational and job orientation, comprehensive sexuality education, and violence prevention.(66% percent of the participants were women)\n\nThe introduction of credit card payments via POS terminals at Yaxha-Nakun-Naranjo National Park allowed seven community associations offering tourism services in the area to increase sales related to guiding, aquatic transportation, food, handicrafts, and other services for tourists visiting the
