A red thread in the project is to build capacity for KEPA in order for the institution to strengthen its coordinating role in Kosovo for environmental data. Within the project, communication activities are integrated, not least to cooperate better with other actors and to reach out to the citizens. However planning and activities have taken place. \n\nA meeting on June 16 this year with the former long-term adviser, and previous meeting with the project leader at SwEPA plus a dialogue with the head of KEPA are the basis for this summery. The new program manager, Mr Mulla, joined the meeting.\n\nComplementary to the points below; the Conclusion memo from last phase and the CoP written in January 2025, could be of interest, as this phase is a continuation from the previous four year period.\n\nThe following is worth mention:\n\n- The kick-off on February 21, 2025, was according to SwEPA productive, with lots of engaged team members. There is an ambition from KEPA, to clarify the roles of the different experts better than from the last phase so that the DG doesn't take to much responsibility on a practical level. \n\n- Two persons will be involved and responsible for each component, and from the Swedish side there will be focal points for all three goals. \n\n- During the kick-off the different components and activities were discussed (see the goals above) and the engagement, according to the former long term adviser, was good but a bit more of engagement could be needed. For instance, there was no representation from Bjeshkët e Nemuna National Park. \n\n- The planning has been shared with other donors, as Switzerland and Japan, so that there will be no duplication in activities. \n\n- Regarding the cooperation with Save the Children and Utalaya Foundation the book that was launched (Uta in Sharr Mountains) and it will be used in a strategic way and probably animated. Responsibility for the coordination lies on Save the Children Kosovo. A summer School has also started, and will be part of the further planning. See below regarding following up.\n\n- SwEPA is in contact with EU-office  regarding a potential cooperation and additional action linked to the project. EU is planning - or already finished the planning - of a project that can add up to what SwEPA KEPA is doing. \n\n- The engagement from the head of KEPA,  is strong and important for the drive of the project. However, the discussion on how the team over all can take more responsibility is on-going. \n\n- The communication will be integrated in the activities - a possible procurement will be done for the more promoting activities.
