As it was concluded in the external evaluation of the program, Goree's work on elections has contributed to preventing violent conflicts in the direct aftermath of elections in at least two West African countries. \nKnowledge production and of transfer of knowledge is another strategic priority area in which the Goree Institute has achieved good results. It has produced an impressive amount of publications on electoral and peace building processes, either directly linked to its research work or to a series of workshops during which research was presented and its results debated. Beyond generating knowledge, the institute contributes to the development of a regional pool of researchers.\nGoree Institute’s activities also contributed to the implementation of regional and international instruments which promote democracy, governance and peace in Africa.
