The total number of inspection field visits in 2022 is 1475 visit, in addition to 2325 visits which were completed in the previous years (2019-2021). The results from the inspectors work are used to plan future inspection visits and identify hot spots. The results also contribute to developing an industrial pollution database and following up environmental violations with law enforcement partners such as Safety committees at the governorates, General Prosecution, Municipalities, Environmental Police and Customs Police. A tangible result from the inspectors work is the unified and scientific procedures in using inspection equipment for measuring and detecting pollutants and the best interpretation of measurements based on the gained practical experience of the inspectors in conducting tailored and thematic surveys of industrial pollution and the use of modern inspection equipment.\n\nS.O. 3: Improved capacity for natural resource protection\n\nA National bio safety framework developed including a Regulatory regime and administrative system, National action plan including system for monitoring and enforcement and emergency response plan, Mechanisms for sharing information, awareness and stakeholders involvement, Mechanisms for participation in biosafety clearing house, National capacity building plan. Adding to this is the formulation of the forth national report on Biosafety to Cartagena Protocol.\n\nA National strategy & action plan for Invasive Alien Species (IAS), including consultation workshops with stakeholders and a field survey for listing of invasive alien species (IAS), their pathways & potential threats and primary data sheets as well as a database of invasive species.\n\nS.O. 4: Improved public awareness and flow of information. \n\n- Environmental Outreach is strengthened, which includes celebrating National Environment Day through awareness activities in West Bank Governorates including Jerusalem and a main event at Palestine Technical University in Tulkarem\n\n- Gender Audit was carried out for EQA in a participatory approach via a team of qualified consultants.\n\n-------\n\nOther comments: \n\nThe whole programme, including the SEPA collaboration was evaluated late 22-early 23.  Essentially, the evaluator concludes that environmental protection and awareness are still among the key priorities of Palestine and deserve proper attention as well as funding from the Palestinian government and international partners. The possible activities and interventions that could be implemented to serve these areas are unlimited. However, it is critical to strike a balance between the pressing needs, the institutional capacity of EQA and the ability to capitalize on and mobilize the appropriate partnership arrangements with
