Priority areas include private sector development, social and economic infrastructure development and climate change mitigation and adaptation. The trust fund also provides support for project identification, preparation of feasibility studies, environmental studies, capacity-building programmes, such as training in beneficiary countries and grants for institutional programmes. Since EIB’s resources for technical assistance (TA) are limited and only account for 2%  of TA provided in the EaP countries,  EPTATF was set up as an EIB-dedicated multipurpose and multi-sector trust fund that is managed by the EIB under the oversight of the Contributors Committee. Additionally EPTATF complements mechanisms which blend EIB loans with other funding sources, including the EU Neighbourhood Investment Facility (NIF) and the Eastern Europe Efficiency and Environment Partnership (E5P). This is funding that can be used for including these aspects in other projects. \n\nEPTATF presents which countries that are among the procured companies for the approved projects. Most companies come from Germany, France and Denmark, while none come from Sweden. \n\nDuring 2024 only one project was completed: the Water Infrastructure Modernization Project in Georgia.
