On the site Openaid.se you can find answers to questions about when, how, to whom and for what purposes Swedish aid has been disbursed.
An aid activity is the financial support that the Ministry for Foreign Affairs (UD), Sida or other authorities in the administration of aid, provides for a project or particular purpose. Sweden’s aid activities may partly or entirely finance a project or programme – that is, a larger activity with many different parts. Openaid.se is built on detailed information about disbursements in the form of aid activities. This information is added together to produce the total amounts shown.
How to navigate through the data
The top navigation is structured like a sentence which filters the data. It states from who, to whom or where, via which organisation for what purpose, and in which year – giving you the basic tools needed to filter the data, which then can be grouped and sorted below. You can also make a comparison with another such sentence by adding comparative data.
The view below the top navigation presents either a graph that shows data over time, a tree map over recipient type, or a map that gives a geographical overview. Depending on your choice of recipient or organsiation you will also be presented with overview data in the right column.
You can always choose to view a full list of all the activities, that can range from one to several thousands, depending on your filtering choices. You can also, at any time, choose to download a xlsm-file (Excel), csv-file or pdf containing all the activities. Alternatively you can use the same button to create an embed code that can be shown on other web sites.
More information, including a smaller graph, is shown when you dig into the details by clicking on an activity. You can also choose to look at the full activity sheet, where you will find any document links available at the activity level.
