Researchers at the New York based organisation The GovLab are investigating how open data is used around the world in different sectors and countries. Openaid.se is one of the 19 projects they have chosen to examine for their case studies and the result was recently published on their website.
In the case studies, interviews and other research is used to draw lessons and understand the projects’ impact on society. Ali Clare, Stefaan Verhulst and Andrew Young who researched the Openaid.se case focused on the issues of enhanced transparency and accountability in developing cooperation in Sweden. Karl Peterson and Carl Elmstam from Sida as well as former Secretary of State Hanna Hellquist were interviewed for the study. Hellquist was one of the persons pushing for the Swedish transparency guaranty which was launched 2011.
