The recent Call for Proposals extended the activity period from 18 to 24 months. Most of the projects have been ongoing since February\u002FMarch 2021. Due to the military coup in October 2021, most projects suspended activities briefly, slightly delaying implementation. Whereas most projects are about halfway through (in July 2022), this last year of implementation will also be the final year of the DCPSF. While conflict levels are rising in Darfur, and the need for peacebuilding interventions is high, several performance-related aspects have rendered Sida and other donors contributing to the DCPSF to discontinue funding. These aspects are further elaborated below.\n\nRegarding results, DCPSF partners have been implementing projects in 26 localities across 159 villages in the five Darfur states. The main results, as highlighted by the DCPSF secretariat in the Annual Report for 2021, include the establishment of a total of 142 Community-Based Reconciliation Mechanisms (CBRMs) and the resolution of a total of 893\u002F 1074 cases referred to the CBRMs. Moreover, seven peace dividend activities have been carried out, and 50 women's organizations have been established.\n\nOutput 1: Community-Based Conflict Resolution and Reconciliation Mechanisms (CBRM) are in use and working effectively to resolve conflict. Summarised key results of Output 1 are as following: \n185 CBRMs were established or revitalized across 136 villages in 27 localities in Darfur. These committees included diverse community members such as farmers, youth, women, pastoralists, returnees, and IDPs. A total of 4,524 members (2,595 men and 1,975 women) were trained in leadership, conflict resolution, and other relevant skills.\nCBRMs held 1,765 meetings to mediate conflicts and build capacity. They also created awareness during harvest seasons to prevent clashes over resources and established Early Warning Information Systems (EWIS) for conflict prevention.\nCBRMs received 7,137 cases, resolving 83% of them. They conducted 46 dialogues to mediate violence and promote peacebuilding, community resilience, and social cohesion.\nTrust in CBRMs increased from 56% at baseline to 84% at endline. Satisfaction with CBRM work rose from 71% to 88%. Women's satisfaction with conflict resolution improved from 55% to 62%.\nAccessibility to CBRM services increased from 67% to 82%. About 71% of CBRMs showed active participation of vulnerable groups in decision-making.\nThe perception of decreased communal conflicts rose from 64% at baseline to 81% at endline, indicating the positive impact of CBRM activities.\n\nOutput 2: Peace Dividends for Community Interdependence and Co-existence Delivered\nEstablished 117 community savings groups and 153 Income Generating Activities (IGA) groups by 2022.Savings groups included 2,597 members (2,000 women and 597 men) and saved approximately USD 37,220. IGA groups involved 2,484 community members (1,273 men and 1,211 women) trained in various enterprises and provided with start-up kits.\nRehabilitated 120 water sources, benefiting approximately 192,960 individuals, 10,300 households, and 27,870 animals.Formed and trained 9 water user committees and 70 pump mechanics to maintain water sources sustainability.\nConstructed 5 markets with 70 market shades and stalls, forming 3 market committees with 40 members for proper management.\nBuilt 13 schools, 26 classrooms, 6 teacher offices, 2 fences, and 1 latrine, benefiting approximately 5,155 pupils\u002Fstudents.\nConstructed 11 community centres equipped for meetings, trainings, social events, and literacy classes for women and children.\nDemarcated 373 kilometers of migratory routes with 1,023 concrete poles to reduce conflicts between farmers and pastoralists. This intervention led to an 80% decrease in incidents and clashes.\nImproved health facilities in North and South Darfur, benefiting over 3,000 people. This included constructing new health centre blocks and providing necessary infrastructure and furniture.\nIncreased interactions between diverse communities through improved access to health, education, and water services. Community perception of improved services: 39% for water, 26% for education, and 23% for health.\nTrained 16 Community Animal Health Workers (CAHWs) and vaccinated 43,500 animals. Trained 537 farmers on improved agricultural practices and established 12 community nurseries for tree and crop seedlings.\nDistributed 2,100 kg of pasture seeds and planted 348 acres with pasture. Trained 79 Natural Resources Management committee members to promote eco-based adaptation actions.\nTrained 1,051 youths in various vocational skills and promoted social cohesion through 40 cultural and sporting events, reaching 13,156 community members.\n\nOutput 3: Womens Organizations Empowered to Participate in Peacebuilding\nEstablished 30 womens organizations in 2022 to serve as channels for women's inclusion in peacebuilding and development activities. These organizations received training in business and conflict management and were provided with small business enterprises.\nFormed 33 womens IGA groups with 525 members across Darfur. These groups were trained in small business management and conflict resolution and received start-up materials for various enterprises.\nConducted 53 awareness sessions on issues such as Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV), Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), child rights, and forced marriage. Held 25 skills training workshops on gender mainstreaming and womens inclusion in peacebuilding, benefiting 1,502 community members (1,251 women and 251 men).\nEnsured balanced representation of women, including pastoralist women, in Community-Based Conflict Resolution and Reconciliation Mechanisms (CBRM).\nTrained 30 men as Gender-Based Violence (GBV) ambassadors to change attitudes towards women in their communities.\n\nOutput 4: Improved Networking, Coordination, and Learning Between Local and State-Level Peacebuilding Institutions\nOrganized 21 exchange visits between various CBRMs within Darfur States, involving 525 community members. These visits facilitated sharing experiences on conflict resolution, mediation, and issues like migratory routes and water resources.\nRevived 2 peacebuilding networks and 2 peace forums, linking them to CBRMs to approach state and national level networks. Organized 33 peacebuilding forums and meetings with at least 4,901 community members attending.\nEngaged different stakeholders in events to discuss conflict mitigation, seasonal migration, gender-based violence, and long-term peacebuilding strategies. These platforms allowed stakeholders to review and evaluate current approaches and agree on common strategies to address root causes of conflict.\nA survey in East Darfur indicated that 74% of community members agreed on the positive impact of product exchange among host communities and nomads. About 42% of community members could identify DCPSF program work, and 99% were aware of the establishment of
