This has a huge impact not only upon livelihood opportunities, peace and stability and resilience, but also shifting rural and pastoralist livelihood to urban economies. The urban influx raises many challenges for the provision of basic urban services including secure access to land for settlement of IDPs and existing vulnerable communities. Lack of effective land administration and planning systems and weak institutions has led to arbitrary distribution of land and has aggravated contestation over land, housing and basic services. Intense competition over land exacerbates forced evictions particularly among IDPs and urban poor.\n\nThe focus of this programme will be to promote inclusive employment opportunities for urban vulnerable populations, increase youth participation; integration of displacement affected households and to strengthen implementation of Durable Solutions and Youth development across Somalia. The construction training manual was upgraded, and both a sustainability strategy for the youth center and a youth engagement strategy were developed, ensuring long-term impact. As a result, 550 youth received training and certification, enhancing their employability, with many securing entry to the job market.\n\nIn outcome 2, the programme improved youth participation in peacebuilding and reconciliation efforts, as well as engagement in local governance and national decision-making processes. Essential spaces for youth were created, and capacity assessments of youth-led organizations were conducted. Workshops were organized, and a youth network was selected to support the Baidoa Youth Centre. Capacity building efforts reached 50 youth, enhancing their skills and involvement. The Baidoa Youth Centre engaged in income-generating activities to sustain the facility. This includes hiring out the renovated football pitch, leasing training rooms to humanitarian organizations and ministries, and leasing the cafeteria. Additionally, the computer lab charges a registration fee while offering free classes, and youth organizations hold engagement sessions at no additional cost. A website was created for Baidoa Youth Centre that is functioning and updated.\n\nWith regards to outcome 3 and 4, the programme achieved several accomplishments. With the construction housing resource pooling and shared labor minimized delays and empowered beneficiaries, allowing for more efficient project completion. A community-driven approach facilitated active participation in construction of housing. Beneficiaries were empowered to negotiate material costs, and the establishment of storage facilities safeguarded materials from adverse weather conditions. Additionally, securing land for shelter construction and implementing drainage systems on challenging terrain contributed significantly to the project's sustainability. House, Land and Property training was provided to beneficiaries enhanced their skills and knowledge, improving their ability to address housing, land, and property issues effectively and contributing to more equitable and sustainable community development.\n\nIn short, the programme impacted a total of 20 395
