UNTF inrättades genom resolution 50\u002F16 i FN:s generalförsamling 1996, som en gemensam fond för FN-systemen, men administrerad av UN Women, för att påskynda arbetet för att förebygga och eliminera våld mot kvinnor och flickor.\n\nVerksamheten syftar till att;\n- öka våldsutsatta kvinnors tillgång till stöd och service, \n- stärka framtagande och genomförande av lagar och policys för att förebygga våld mot kvinnor och flickor\n- stärka förebyggande av våld mot kvinnor och flickor genom insatser för att förändra sociala normer\n\nUNTF arbetar genom tre pelare; finansiering av insatser, som kunskapshub\u002F evidensnav och för att öka global finansiering för insatser mot våld mot kvinnor och flickor.\n\n1) Finansiering av insatser: UNTF ger finansiering för innovativa och katalytiska fleråriga program som sätter överlevande i centrum för sina interventioner. Programmen genomförs i huvudsak av civilsamhällesorganisationer, men regeringarna kan också ansöka om finansiering. UNTF gör årliga ansökningsomgångar och får 1000 till 2000 ansökningar per år (1300 i 2019) till ett värde av 400-600 MUSD. En omfattande bedömningsprocess äger rum i samband med varje ansökningsomgång och UNTF fördelar 10-15 MUSD till 25-35 nya partners per år. EU kommissionen inom ramarna för \"Advocacy, Coalition Buildning and Transformative Feminst Action (ACT) Programme.\n\n-Stort fokus på kriskontext och utdragna kriser och merparten av stöden gavs till kvinnoledda civilsamhällesorganisationer.\n\n-Verksamheten nådde direkt eller indirekt 14,7 miljoner människor och denna siffrar inkluderar också de som beräknas ha nåtts av informationskampanjer i media.\n\n-Verksamheten nådde drygt 60 000 våldsutsatta kvinnor och flickor, varav 41, 359 erhöll specialiserat stöd i form av stöd från social service, hälsovård och 13 236 erhöll juridisk stöd.  \n\n-1 612 civilisammhällesaktörer och insitutionella partners rapporterade att de ökat sin kapacitet att utveckla eller genomföra policies eller handlingplaner för att få slut på känsrelaterat våld.\n\n-Genom långsiktig och flexibel finansiering stödjer UN Trust Fund CSOs att genomföra efterfrågestyrd verksamhet för att förebygga könsrelaterat våld. Stödet omfattar både finansiering och kapacitetsutveckling. En stor andel av organisationerna som erhöll stöd rapporterade att de som resultat av stödet kunnat mobilisera ytterligare finansiering\n\n-UNTF har tydligt fokus på att kombinera finansiering med att stödja grantees kapacitetsutveckling. Under 2024 rapporterade med än 80% av UNTFs grantees att de stärkt sin kapacitet att hantera utmaningar. \n\n\n\nUNTF rapporterar omfattande resultat som når många människor.
