In Sudan, Saferworld together with its partners provided technical guidance, coaching and monitoring support to community-led initiatives implemented through Mutual Aid Groups. A total of 549 micro-grants were awarded to support activities ranging from food security and livelihoods to protection, health, water and sanitation, shelter and other emergency humanitarian needs. Similar to previous years, Sida views this approach positively as it demonstrates Saferworlds continued commitment to strengthening locally owned responses in highly fragile contexts while maintaining flexibility during ongoing conflict. In Kyrgyzstan, Saferworld supported partners working with youth groups, providing training and knowledge aimed at strengthening young peoples ability to contribute positively to their communities and engage in social initiatives. In Myanmar, support to citizen journalism initiatives helped strengthen the capacity of local communities to document and communicate their realities, amplifying voices that are often absent from mainstream media. Sida assesses that these initiatives demonstrate how peacebuilding efforts can be linked to broader participation and civic engagement processes. Saferworld continued to provide increasingly flexible support to civil society organisations in fragile and conflict-affected settings. Particularly noteworthy was the creation of a network bringing together nine organisations from Sudan, Syria and Yemen, enabling them to exchange experiences, develop joint responses to regional challenges and engage collectively with potential donors. Sida views this as an example of an important and potentially sustainable outcome, as it strengthens horizontal linkages between civil society actors and may contribute to greater resilience and organisational sustainability over time. In Syria, Saferworld supported four civil society organisations to establish a consortium focused on sustainable peacebuilding, womens participation, youth engagement and inclusion of persons with disabilities while seeking to strengthen connections across conflict divides. Given the continued volatility in Syria and the political developments during the reporting period, Sida sees this as a particularly relevant and timely intervention. In Yemen, the Civic Voices Hub continued to strengthen the juvenile justice system through support to the Juvenile Care and Rehabilitation Centre, including vocational training, advocacy initiatives and rehabilitation of facilities. The initiative reportedly strengthened protection mechanisms and improved conditions for juveniles in conflict with the law. Sida assesses this as a good example of how peacebuilding approaches can be connected to justice and service delivery systems at local level. In Somalia, Saferworld continued implementation of its Early Warning, Early Response (EWER) approach through community- and CSO-led centres aimed at identifying and addressing potential conflicts before they escalate. Over 50 government representatives from institutions including police, district administrations and relevant ministries participated. Joint advocacy and communication efforts by local partners contributed to strengthening community engagement and promoting more inclusive conflict prevention mechanisms. In Uganda, Kenya and South Sudan, Saferworld continued to support locally led responses to the interconnected challenges of conflict, climate change and gender inequality in border areas. One example is the establishment of a transboundary trade forum designed to foster peaceful cross-border trade and support dialogue between actors across conflict divides. Sida sees this as an indication of Saferworld increasingly working at the intersection of peacebuilding, climate adaptation and economic
