The network works to improve practice, enable collaboration, build influence and amplify its impact in peacebuilding in local, regional and international levels. GPPAC aims to root peacebuilding policies, practices and infrastructures in locally-led and locally-grounded peacebuilding. They do this by amplifying their members' expertise, mobilising collective action and influencing policy and practice. \n\nThe 2022 narrative report for the first time includes two elements; an Annual Review describing key reflections, learning, results and outcomes and a digital Network Visualisation illustrating the network's results and outcomes in 2022.  \n\nAs Sida provides core support to the organisation there is a wide range of results reported. For this year, Sida has chosen to highlight two result examples that illustrate the global added value and show the strength of a world-wide network. The latter is the focus for the forthcoming external evaluation and Sida can therefore expect further insights on the GPPAC networking approach inluding more concrete examples early next year.\n\n\nYouth Peace Clubs in Burundi and DRC as an Alternative for Joining Armed Groups\n\nIn the Eastern and Central Africa region, many youths face the risk of being manipulated by armed rebel groups to join in violent conflict. Therefore, GPPAC members in the region have commonly identified countering youth radicalisation and violent extremism as a strategic priority. This has resulted in a number of best practices being developed, such as Youth Peace Camps in Cameroon and the Peace Champions project in Uganda. In 2022, an exchange visit between member organisations of Burundi and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) empowered six youths from Uvira, DRC to incorporate peacebuilding and income-generating activities in their youth clubs. This initiative attracted more young people, preventing radicalisation and reducing violence in Uvira. \n\n\nFrom Global Learning Exchange to National Early Warning Early Response\n\nDuring GPPAC's first-ever 'Learning Month'-pilot in 2022, over 258 unique participants from 64 countries connected to share their knowledge and expertise with each other. One such topic was around systems for Early Warning Early Response (EWER) and sharing of lessons learned from Zimbabwe, Uganda and regionally from the Middle East\u002FNorth Africa. Contact was then established between two GPPAC members, where a regional MENA organisation could provide technical support to GPPAC member Peace-Labs, a local CSO in Lebanon.
