ESCWAs advisory support to the Government of Jordan on the margins of the workshop contributed to Jordans decision to join the 1992 UN Water Convention in February 2026, representing a concrete national policy outcome with implications for transboundary water cooperation.\n\nArab ministers for water and agriculture convened in October 2025 and adopted the five-year review of the joint water-agriculture coordination mechanism, which includes proposals to strengthen institutional integration, monitoring and follow-up, resource mobilization, and implementation of priority actions, particularly in non-conventional water use and climate-resilient water and food systems. The review provides a strengthened regional framework for coordinated action at the intersection of water, agriculture and climate resilience.\n\nThe Arab Multi-Stakeholder Platform on Biodiversity Finance for Climate Resilience and its three working groups developed 10 project concepts aligned with regional biodiversity finance and climate resilience priorities.
