Chile och Paraguay har tagit steg mot att införa en lag om säkerhet för journalister enligt Unescos modell. \n\nProgrammet IPDC, som rapporterar för både 2023 och 2024, har genomfört 42 projekt på gräsrotsnivå i 79 olika länder. 18 av projekten genomfördes i LDC-länder, till exempel utbildning i politisk rapportering för kvinnliga journalister i Madagaskar inför kommande val.\n\nBåde MDP och IPDC har arbetat med säkerhet för journalister i några av världens svåraste kontexter, som Afghanistan, Palestina, Irak, Sudan och Ukraina. De har gett journalister utbildning i säkerhet, personlig skyddsutrustning, psykosocialt stöd och praktiskt stöd i att rapportera via till exempel internet hot spots. IPDC har fortsatt sin verksamhet med \"safe spaces\" för journalister i farliga kontexter. Safe spaces riktar sig dels till journalister verksamma i konflikter, dels till journalister på flykt eller i exil. De erbjuder en plats att arbeta, praktisk hjälp, stöd, och ett kollegialt sammanhang i Ukraina, Pakistan (främst för journalister i exil från Afghanistan, Sudan, Costa Rica och Kenya.\n\nUnesco har fortsatt sitt arbete för ett fritt och säkert internet. 2023 tog man fram \"Guidelines for the Governance of Digital Platforms\", och under 2024 har Unesco i samarbete med en mångfald aktörer och intressenter tagit fram rekommendationer för digitala plattformar med bas i mänskliga rättigheter.  \n\nSedan 2023 har Unesco också gjort en särskild satsning på arbete med medie- och informationskunskap, bland annat genom att skapa en egen enhet som arbetar med området. Unesco har gjort framsteg i tolv länder, där man arbetat med influencers, ungdomar, lärare och utbildare och stärkt deras förmåga till källkritik och förmåga att bedöma information. \n\nI de två kulturprojekten, ReShaping och Culture 2030 Indicators, har rapporteringen en tydligt utvärderande ansats där man försöker spåra resultaten till en högre nivå och få fatt i långsiktiga resultat. I ReShaping har Unesco stöttat åtta länder i att arbeta fram evidensbaserade och rättighetsbaserade kultur-policier, via inklusiva plattformar. Ett delmål i detta var att hjälpa länderna att rapportera till QPR, Quadrennial periodic report, och det målet uppfyllde alla åtta länderna. Särskilt civilsamhället i länderna gjorde stort avtryck i rapporteringen. ReShaping rapporterar också om svårigheter i att arbetet med en särskild jämställdhetskomponent. I Senegal till exempel saknas både data, resurser och koordination kring arbetet med jämställdhet inom kultursektorn. I Peru däremot har man jobbat med kvinnligt ledarskap inom kultursektorn med stipendiater och mentorer, och den modellen verkar vara framgångsrik.
