According to RAF all the activities of the Association are performed in one of the four strategic areas (1, 2, 3, 4), as follows: Waste and Water Management; Green Economy and Climate Change; Organisational Development and Increased Visibility.\n\nThroughout 2023, the Organisation has achieved remarkable success across all four strategic priorities mentioned above, as follows:\n\nA large-scale national campaign on World Cleanup Day saw 6,000 volunteers from over 120 localities participating, resulting in the collection of more than 500 cubic meters of waste from green areas.\nContribution to the National Program for the Extension and Rehabilitation of Forests by organizing the annual planting campaign. This included planting 78 hectares of land in Geamna, Anenii Noi, and establishing river protection strips along the Dniester in Molovata village, Dubsari district, with over 50 participants including village residents, students, and APL representatives, covering approximately 2 km of the shore.\nTwelve schools from both banks of the Dniester developed and executed environmental projects and actions.\nThe Small Grants Program \"Environment, Adaptation to Climate Change, and Ecosystems\" continued into its second edition, selecting five beneficiary NGOs from across the country. These NGOs implemented projects addressing waste management in localities, rehabilitating river protection, and educating and training village inhabitants.\nSix springs that directly feed surface water sources (rivers and streams) were rehabilitated in various localities: Nistru in Cremenciug, Rut in Furceni and Jevreni, Tigheci in Pleeni, Racova in Tîrnova, and Larga in Larga Noua.\nFour localities improved their waste management systems: Vadul-Racov, oldneti, Soroca, Molovata, and Oxentea, Dubsari.\nThe EcoAlert tool was promoted, with 348 notifications registered (253 at the end of 2022 and 188 in 2021), of which 321 were resolved (158 in 2021), and only 14 were rejected.\nSupport for School Gardens continued, with four new schools joining the network at the end of 2022. These schools implemented the School Garden project in 2023 and participated in local and national fairs with their garden products. Four educational institutions advanced enough to offer support to other schools, teachers, and students through consultations, studio tours, and training.\nThe NEC Facebook page gained 886 new followers, totaling 6,494 likes, with an annual organic reach of nearly 265,000. There were 177 posts on the Facebook page, 138 mentions and tags on other accounts\u002Fpages, and over 50 media appearances in newspapers, online portals, TV, and radio shows.\nVisibility and awareness-raising efforts led to CNM being recognized and followed by citizens, with five videos produced: two descriptive videos of WCD 2023, one video on the Pesticide Site restoration, and summaries of WCD 2023.\nDuring World Cleanup Day 2023 (September 15 and 16), more than 1,000 volunteers from about 120 localities collected approximately 4,000 cubic meters of waste, primarily from rivers, springs, and lakes.\nOne study analyzed the impact of dams in the Dniester River basin, and one communication strategy was developed for the National Program for Forest Extension and Rehabilitation.\n\nTo conclude, the achievements of 2023 can be highlighted as follows: the Organisation has effectively engaged a broad spectrum of the population through its diverse project activities. From large-scale campaigns like World Cleanup Day to targeted initiatives such as the Small Grants Program and School Gardens, their efforts have clearly made a significant impact across various communities.\n_______________________________________________\nThe 2024 Progress Report outlines the yearly organizations achievements and also results from January to April 2024, supported in part by funding from Sweden. This four-month period falls within the no-cost extension of the Core Support, approved by Sida in October 2023. The extension was requested to utilize remaining funds and to expand the scope of environmental activities.\n\nThis report is structured in accordance with NECs Results Assessment Framework for 20202023, which focuses on four key strategic areas: Water, Waste, Green Economy & Climate Change, and Organizational Development. Each chapter highlights the achieved outcomes, delivered outputs, and relevant cross-cutting initiatives.\n\nIn 2024, NEC delivered impactful results across its strategic focus areas, engaging communities, schools, and authorities in advancing shared environmental objectives:\n\n- Eco-coala WASH Initiative: Partnered with 20 schools, reaching over 7,700 students and community members.\n- Youth Empowerment: Organized two regional summer camps, training 64 young leaders in WASH and climate action.\n- Capacity Building: Provided project management, environmental leadership, and WASH training to more than 200 teachers and students.\n- Afforestation Efforts: Established 14 Baby Forests in schools through the USFS-supported program, planting 4 hectares of diverse species under the
