In the following years, the number of partners has been reduced as follows, including 6 partners (APC, RCCI, SVH, ADMR, UPDI, RACOJ) for the year 2022, 4 partners (RCCI, SVH, UPDI and ADMR) for the year 2023 and only 2 (ADMR and SVH) for the year 2024. LPI and its partners consolidated programme achievements to drive positive change within communities and among targeted stakeholders.\n\nLPI reduced the number of partners due to a lack of funds, mainly because 43% of the LPI programme was funded by Sida and the remainder could not be secured; furthermore, security concerns forced the programme to withdraw from certain areas due to the war.\n\nIn community level, the reduction in the number of partners negatively affected some initial target areas, especially the chiefdoms of BashaliMokoto, Bwisha, in North-Kivu; Nindja, Kelehe and Walungu in South-Kivu which had to be abandoned early in the process. It also weakened sustainability at that level including resolutions that were not followed up in these zones. Additional disruption arose from the M23 occupation, during which both local and customary administrations because  were replaced.\n\nIt should be noted, however, that cooperation with the authorities has been strengthened, community-based peace-building structures (involving women and young people) have been supported, and conflict resolution and stakeholder participation have been encouraged.\n\n\nKey Achievements Across Four Levels\n\n1. Community-Based Peacebuilding\nIn the final evaluation report, the evaluators noted a significant reduction in hate speech that undermines peaceful coexistence between communities in the Fizi and Uvira districts, achieved through the inter-community consultation frameworks established to monitor the situation during this sensitive period of tension. This has resulted in certain leaders and members of the Bafuliru and Banyamulenge communities adopting a moderate stance in their contributions during workshops and\u002For in certain public speeches.\n\nThe inter-community consultation framework brings together committees of elders from each group within each territory. They have initiated dialogues with local communities to facilitate the free movement of people and goods between the two groups. The elders committee of the Lemera group launched a dialogue that helped to ease tensions between the Bafuliiru and Banyamulenge communities, which were in conflict over the management of the Rurambo area. These processes have enabled members of the Banyamulenge community to move freely along the Kitoga-Kahololo route and allowed more than 40 households to return to their villages.\n\n\n2. Women and Youth Empowerment\n\n\nIn terms of inclusion (gender sensitivity and inclusive programming), LPI ensured that all categories of people (women, men, boys, girls, people with disabilities, indigenous peoples) were represented in a balanced manner and that their representation created possibilities to influence decisions and meaningful opportunities to address the specific needs and interests of all these categories.\n\nFor illustration purposes, gender and inclusion were considered in the following ways:\n\nWomen's structures were supported in their approach to implementing peace activities at the local level in the intervention areas Women and youth were supported in acquiring land titles to combat land insecurity and deprivation, which this category often suffers from in the intervention areas. The Participatory Action Research conducted in the Fizi territory specifically addressed the issue of inclusive local governance in relation to the integration of Pygmée peoples (PAP). This process resulted in the granting of land and customary land titles to more than 40 PAPs, primarily women and youth. This demonstrates our commitment to understanding and valuing the experiences of indigenous peoples and including them in governance processes.\n\n3. Policy Engagement\n\nIntegrated peacebuilding principles into the National Programme for Disarmament, Demobilization, Community Recovery and Stabilization (P DDRCS) strategy.\nSecured land for returnees and supported development of Local Development Plans and Provincial Operations Plans. The LPI programme provided technical and financial support to the provincial office when drafting its Provincial Operational Plan and equipped the South Kivu office with furniture. As lead of the eastern DRC stabilization actions in line with the presidential decree mandating the PDDRCS to coordinate all stabilization efforts, LPI worked closely with PDDRCS and set up the Peacebuilding Community of Practice (CPP) platform, now become key tool for coordination of national and international peace actors and pushing dialogue initiatives connecting to peace processes.\n\n\nStrengthened customary conflict resolution mechanisms.\n\n4. Coordination of Peacebuilding Interventions\n\nEnhanced capacities of 10 CSOs , Produced advocacy notes and organized missions in Kinshasa and internationally (Berlin, Stockholm, Brussels, New York, Washington DC).\nParticipated in regional forums and organized workshops on gender and conflict analysis with partners like FBA.\nImprovement of technical and organizational capacities of 10 civil society organisations (CSOs), through accompaniment approaches to lead peacebuilding processes which address major conflict issues in eastern DRC.\n\nElaboration of more than 5 advocacy notes (see annexes) and organised advocacy missions in Kinshasa and the Great Lakes region. Participation on 29 January 2024, in the workshop organised by the Association Episcopal dAfrique Centrale (ACEAC) in Goma and development of a common Advocacy Note related to peace processes in Eastern DRC. Attending meetings in Berlin (5 June 2024), Stockholm (28 May to 31 May 2024), Brussels (3 June 2024), New York (11 to 15 November 2024) and Washington DC (18 to 21 November 2024) related to the conflict in East of DRC.\n\nPresentation of CPPs analysis of the regional conflict dynamics at the regional forum in Bujumbura organised by the Swiss Embassy and the Office of the Special Representative of the UN in the Great Lake's Region from 4 to 5 March 2024. Support to the Women Forum of the Assemblée des Evêques de la Province Ecclésiastique de Bukavu (ASSEPB) area (Bukavu, Goma, Butembo, Uvira, Kasongo and Kindu) on capacity development in social cohesion and peacebuilding from 20 to 24 August 2024.\n\nIn collaboration with Folke Bernadotte Academy (FBA), organization of a conflict analysis workshop and positioning of peace actors regarding the actual crisis in Eastern DRC, in Nairobi from 17-18 March 2025. 19 March 2025, Organisation in Nairobi, in collaboration with FBA, of a workshop to follow up on the training on: A gender perspective in peace and security activities in the DRC: North and South Kivu, provided by FBA and RCPI for CPP members in December 2024 in Bukavu.\n\nFrom 29 to 30 April 2025, in collaboration with FBA, LPI held a workshop to harmonise views, areas of complementarity, and possible avenues for collaboration between CENCO (Conférence Episcopale Nationale du Congo), Eglise du Christ au Congo (ECC) and CPP, to contribute to the content of the social pact for peace and harmonious coexistence through the thematic reference frameworks produced by the CENCO pact, and propose expertise within the CPP that could support various commissions in the production of these reference frameworks.\n\nTo sustain LPIs achievements, consultations were conducted with peace community structures, local authorities, community and religious leaders to identify the best approaches to ensure that the latter can take over at the conclusion of the program. Therefore, the closing of the program was marked by the strengthening of the achievements through increased accountability of local peace structures, women and youth, as well as community leaders in
