The strategy will support the leadership of partners in a prioritized set of countries (30 countries by 2025) in developing joint advocacy action plans, drawing on regional and global tools, platforms and resources.\n\nThese efforts will be supported by PMNCH through the creation of:\n• country-based Digital Advocacy Hubs, enabling all partners  including youth groups, NGOs, the private sector and health professionals  to meet, plan and share experiences and knowledge in real-time;\n\n• a first-ever digital compendium of existing commitments on WCAH to help partners target their advocacy efforts, including in areas where too few commitments exist, such as adolescent well-being (AWB); and\n\n• a new Accountability Portal to be hosted on www.pmnch.org, with a continually updated set of carefully curated resources (including country data, profiles, reports and dashboards) to support country partners in their advocacy and accountability efforts.\n\nPMNCH launched the Global Leaders Network which will include10 heads of states under the leadership of President Cyril Ramaphosa as chair of the network. \n\nPMNCH and partners developed a \"decade\" edition of Born Too Soon, which with new data, evidence and country learnings provides a clear pathway for action on pre-term birth, the number one cause of death of children under five around the world.\n\nAnother highlight in 2022 was inclusion of agreed language on the centrality of the well-being of adolescents and youth to achieving the SDG Goals. PMNCH supported Members States involved in negotiating and adopting the UN Third Committee resolution by providing suggested language and evidence to support the inclusion of adolescent and youth well-being in the resolution. In follow up, the Director General of WHO sent a high-level memo to the eight WHO Regional Directors, copied to country representatives offices, to inform them about the Global Forum for Adolescents in 2023 and urging them to support commitment mobilization for AWB as part of the VNR process.\n\nIn 2022, PMNCH digital communications efforts generated 17.6 million impressions through various social media channels. The PMNCH audience base grew steadily, with Twitter registering 9%, Facebook 12% and LinkedIn 60% growth in followers respectively. Additionally, 205,000 users visited pmnch.org in 2022, generating 329,000 page views.\n\nPMNCH media products, including opinion-editorials, commentaries, press releases and interviews were picked up by media outlets 398 times. The 398 media hits generated a cumulative estimated potential media reach of 6.9 billion. This metric means that the estimated sum of potential media consumers exposed to PMNCH media products based on media outlet self-reports reached 6.9 billion in 2022\n\nAdvocacy Highlights:\n\nPMNCH called for sustained and uninterrupted access to essential healthcare and services and the delivery of humanitarian assitance in Ukraine and other crises. Making sure women, children and adolescents needs are prioritized in crises and created communication assets to amplify these messages. They also co-authored a commentary in the BMJ about the vulnerability of WCA in conflict settings and the importance of protecting health workers trying to address their needs. \n\nPMNCH, as a long-standing partner of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), played an active role in the 144th IPU Assembly. PMNCH contributed with a keynote presentation on WCAs lived experiences during the Forum of Women Parliamentarians, as well as the Advisory Group on Health. The PMNCH delegation also held bilateral meetings with speakers and parliamentarians from more than 26 countries on prioritizing WCAH and ensuring commitments made are implemented.\n\nPMNCH hosted an ECOSOC side event with WHO, the World Food Programme and other UN agencies, including UN Women, UNAIDS, UNESCO, UNFPA, UNICEF and the UN Major Group for Children and Youth, to make the case for greater commitment to adolescents and the integration of adolescent wellbeing programming into national and subnational development plans.\n\nPMNCH, through its Board Chair Helen Clark,issued a statement on the repeal of Roe vs. Wade and called for the protection of women's and girls' SRHR. Helen Clark warned that the effect of the repeal would extend well beyond US borders with women in poor and marginalized communities likely to be the hardest hit.\n\nPMNCH organized a range of events and advocacy opportunities during 2022, including at the\n\n- Berlin World Health Summit: launch of Protect the Promise, the 2022 progress report on the Global Strategy; an official session on ensuring access to SRHR services as part of UHC and resilient health systems; supported a side event on equity in immunization and vaccine development which focused on zero dose children.\n\n- ICFP: convened young people from around the world to share experiences, challenges and aspirations around SRHR, and a sequel to the PMNCH Accountability breakfast responding to the urgent need to secure commitments and action for ASRHR\n\n- COP27: co-organized a session on the impacts of climate change on women's health at the WHO Health Pavillion\n\n- A number of online webinars and workshops in the area of SRMNCAH.\n\n- In October 2022, the 1.8 Billion campaign was officially launched with a curtain raiser online event and the launch of the #1point8 website and What Young People Want initiative\n\nPMNCH have also curated a number of resources under the workstream 'knowledge synthesis'. These include:\n\n- Toolkit on SRHR in pandemic preparedness and response an a video promoting Covid-19 vaccination to pregnant women\n\n- Global Summary report based on findings of a series of consultations on programming to promote adolescent wellbeing, and collaborated on the BMJ adolescent wellbeng collection (16 papers and commentaries coordinated by PMNCH).\n\n- Practical guidance resource for operationalizing meaningful adolescent and youth engagement (MAYE)\n\n- Protect the Promise is a joint report by WHO, UNICEF, UNFPA, PMNCH and Countdown\nto 2030, supported by the UN Secretary-General and UN Secretary-Generals Global Advocate for Every Woman Every Child. \n\nPMNCH's Partner Engagement workstream:\n\n- At a multi-stakeholder level, PMNCH participated in the country consultations coordinated by Civil Society Engagement Mechanism for UHC2030 as part of the State of UHC commitment review process. More than 100 PMNCH partners in Malawi, Liberia and Ghana participated in these consultations\n\n- As part of the Voluntary National Review (VNR) processes for the SDGs, PMNCH participated in two capacity building activities: a VNR Lab on Sustainable Development Goal 3 and a VNR 2023 virtual knowledge exchange organized by UN DESA, sharing information on the MAYE knowledge toolkit. \n\nPMNCH Support to Youth-led Grassroots Organizations\n\nPMNCH provides support to 11 youth-led organizations at country level to implement the Advocating for Change for Adolescents Toolkit. This includes advocating for the adoption of the Adolescent Well-being Framework in national programmes and the implementation of the Call to Action for Adolescents. Since August 2022, these organizations have received capacity building support to empower them as mobilizers of the \"What young people want\" chatbot and gather 50,000 responses in their respective countries. PMNCH has supported the facilitation of this partner engagement through making knowledge resources available and providing some financial resources as part of the services delivery contract.\n\nPMNCH's engagement with the private sector\n\nOne of PMNCH's consituencies is the Private Sector Constituency comprised by 83 private sector actors such as pharamaceutical companies, biotech and biomedical companies, as well as companies such as Phillips. The sector were quite engaged in the adolescent campaign and Summit and came out with an Action Plan for Private sector action for adolescents in January 2024.\n\nResults for 2023: \nMembership application increased by 50% in 2023. At the end of 2023 there were 1461 members representing a 39% increase since January of 2020.\n\nAdolescent Wellbeing:\nThe Global Forum for Adolescents (GFA) was held from 11-12 October 2023 as the worlds largest online gathering for adolescent well-being (AWB) in response to the current situation which sees more young people (aged 10-24) than at any other time in world history.\n\nDuring PMNCH's 1.8 Billion Young People for Change campaign that took place in 2023, 1.5 million young people from 90 countries expressed what they most want for their well-being. This informed the very first Agenda for Action for Adolescents and resulted in 36 commitments (18 Member States, two regional bodies (the African Union and European Union), 13 philanthropic and other funding organizations, and three non-state actors including non-governmental organizations, inter-governmental organizations and health-care professional associations) that now provide a roadmap for increased financing and improved policies and programs for Adolescent Wellbeing (AWB). The Agenda highlights seven priorities for urgent action and a path forward for governments in partnership with stakeholders from all other sectors. Eight knowledge products were launched at the GFA to expand the evidence-based work on adolescent well-being.\n\nMaternal, Newborn and Child Health\nPMNCH's report on prematurity and integrated maternal and newborn care (Born too soon; decade of action on preterm birth), published in May 2023 together with more than 70 partners from 46 countries, sets an ambitious agenda to address the causes of preterm birth, reduce the burden and advocate for high-quality care so that women and babies can survive and thrive, wherever they are. The report had the highest reach of any PMNCH knowledge product with 1.3 million poeple over social media, and media coverage generated an estimated potential reach of almost 3.5 billion people.\n\nPMNCH continues to engage high-level champions and in 2023 they published two op-eds:\n- \"Millions of women are still at risk of dying during pregnancy and childbirth\" in The Telegraph by Rt Hon. Helen Clark and Dr Adhanom Ghebreyesus Tedros, Director-General of the World Health Organization in April 2023,\n- \"Why are 7 out of 10 maternal deaths still taking place in Africa?\" signed by President Ramaphosa and published by Thomson Reuters in May 2023\n\nSexual and Reproductive Health and Rights\nPMNCH held bilateral meetings with heads of government and over 30 ministers at key global and regional policy events such as the World Health Assembly (WHA), G20 Ministerial meetings, Women Deliver and the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), among others. PMNCH also participated in two Inter-parliamentary Union assemblies, including bilateral meetings with more than 40 national speakers and members of parliament.\n\nIn May of 2023, PMNCH facilitated partners work through the coordination and publication of Why sexual and reproductive health and rights are essential for Universal Health Coverage. This was used extensively by partners to advocate for strong SRHR and UHC language in the UHC Political Declaration. Note: Sida was one of the main authors of this paper and the key driver behind PMNCH's role in highlighting SRHR in UHC in the lead up to the HLM on UHC. \n\nA PMNCH consensus statement: Call to G7 to prioritize SRHR in UHC.\n\nGlobal Leaders Network & Political Leadership\nThe establishment of the Global Leaders Network (GLN) continues. It is the first and only Southern-led global health diplomacy initiative to support the attainment of the SDGs related to women, children and adolescents. \n\nPMNCH continued with their Lives in a Balance series and hosted an in-person event on the side-lines of WHA 2023. In total in 2023, PMNCH produced nine flagship events and supported 19 partner events of strategic importance. All events provided opportunities to amplify PMNCHs advocacy asks and influence decisions in line with its three thematic priorities (MNCH, AWB, SRHR). In addition, 190 partner events were amplified on the Events Hub.\n\nPartner Engagement\nDigital advocacy hubs were launched in 2023, envisioned to become th world's most comprehensive digital advocacy platform for WCAH. The hubs provide a resource-rich platform for interactive engagement throughout the WCAH community. An Android and iOS app now makes partner collaboration even easier. \n\nCollaborative advocacy action planst (CAAPs) build or strengthen existing platforms where they exist and ensure inclusive and meaningful participation, engagement and decision-making to advance the implementation of national commitments for WCAH by\nensuring that existing commitments are followed up and new commitments are mobilized. By the end of 2023, CAAPs were initiated by a broad spectrum of partners in 11 countries including Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Kenya, Liberia, Malawi, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Tanzania and Zambia.\n\nEvolving results for 2024:\nPMNCH launched their global investment case for adolescent wellbeing at the side-lines of UNGA making a very strong case for action by showcasing the glaring costs of inaction at 4.1 trillion USD annually. Three country-investment cases are underway, the India case launched in July, the Colombia case study is planned to be launched during the ministerial conference on VAC in Colombia this year and South Africa's investment case is underway. \n\nThe PMNCH is strengthening its position as a key player in mobilising high-level political will and interest and works with several countries' heads of state or ministers. PMNCH has successfully worked for countries to commit to increased investments in maternal health and SRHR and highlight the work on these areas in international processes such as Voluntary National Reviews (VNR), global and regional initiatives such as the African Union Campaign on Accelerated Reduction on Maternal Mortality and the Global Financing Facility, among others. \n\nPMNCH has over the past year played an increasingly critical role in the SRHR space, being a coordinating force and providing a platform for honest, tough and respectful conversations between partners and stakeholders in the area of SRMNCAH (Sexual and Reproductive Maternal Newborn Child and Adolescent Health). PMNCH's efforts to bring together the SRHR Advocacy Coalition and creating a very meaningful space for partners to come together, their work to promote and create spaces for south-based leadership, and the efforts to really get the country advocacy action coalitions off the ground have been commendable and important achievements.\n\nPMNCH's solid work with partners and health ministries at country level ahead of the adoption of the resolution focusing on maternal health during the WHA 2024. The PMNCH played an important role in ensuring the inclusion of SRHR in the resolution and continues to be a key player in holding signatory countries accountable to operationalize it at country level as well. This is where PMNCH's country-focus coalitions come into the picture and although in 2024 they were in the start-up phase, they seem to have started in 10 countries and are working to ensure the operationalization of international commitments at the national level. These coalitions coordinate through a digital platform provided by PMNCH and call Digital Advocacy Hubs. PMNCH also facilitates learning between countries.\n\nIn 2024, they published various \"op-eds\" and other opinion-forming publications to highlight issues of maternal health and SRHR. PMNCH has also produced several important publications together with partners to support advocacy work with evidence.\n\nPMNCH works to increase private sector engagement, collaboration and funding for SRHR and young people's well-being and in 2024 launched a toolbox for private actors to engage in young people's
