Notably 78 % of women and 80 % of young people reported that the content broadcast responded to their needs. The enhancement of a new press law in March 2023 represent a significant step forward in the official recognition of community radios. \n\nThe average revenue of radio stations rose from USD 15 USD quarterly to 102 USD one year after. 94 % of media professionals interviewed thought that the project had brought positive change, particularly by strengthening radio governance, improving quality of content, and inclusion of women and in public debate. \n\nThe final evaluation also highlight remaining challenges such as the lack of technical equipment and insufficient legal protection mechanisms for journalists. The evaluation recommends strengthening economic and technical training for radio staff, promoting digital innovation and rising community awareness about the role of local radio. In the medium term it advises radio stations to develop more inclusive programs address critical issues such as civic education, governance, culture and sustainable development and co create content with the citizens.\n\nThe evaluation also states that the project was relevant and led up to concrete results and significant progress in the media sector in DRC. It has improved the quality of information, fostered more inclusive journalistic practices and supported the empowerment of local actors. To sustain these results, continued efforts in financing, regulatory support and digital innovation are essential to ensure a pluralistic free and resilient media environment. \n\nThe efficiency is assessed to be very good in general also with regards to budget efficiency, media production and training capacity.
