Implementation remained aligned with planned objectives, and the programme is now well positioned to accelerate delivery of results in the coming years.\n\n\nProgress was made in improving water allocation and governance. Water accounting and water productivity assessments were conducted in Egypt, Jordan, Palestine, and Tunisia, leading to the development of improved water allocation scenarios in all four pilot countries. These analyses strengthened stakeholder dialogue, improved understanding of allocation challenges, and informed policy development aimed at enhancing equity and sustainability in water use. At the regional level, coordination was strengthened through the organization of the 7th High-Level Joint WaterAgriculture Technical Committee and the 3rd Joint Ministerial Meeting, which adopted a regional roadmap for 20252030 to improve water-food security coordination across the Arab region.\n\n\nProgress was also achieved in strengthening WASH systems and wastewater reuse through the development of Sanitation Safety Plans in Jordan, Tunisia, and Palestine. These plans included comprehensive risk assessments and improvement measures, laying the groundwork for pilot implementation in 2026. In parallel, a regional capacity-development programme was launched, including geospatial and remote-sensing training for government technical staff from five countries. The programme achieved high participation and satisfaction rates, contributing to stronger institutional capacity for evidence-based water management. Awareness and knowledge exchange were further strengthened through the WSI Programme Track at Cairo Water Week 2025, which brought together regional stakeholders and partners.\n\n\nImplementing partners also reported important achievements. ESCWA advanced groundwater governance and climate vulnerability assessments, ICARDA conducted baseline assessments and developed WEFE nexus tools, and IWMI initiated analytical work on water reuse and aquifer salinization.
