Five organizations improved governance structures and strategic planning, while two developed internal systems and policies on anti-corruption and gender equality. Internship programs enabled 15 young women to gain professional experience and contribute to legal aid for detainees.\nIn conflict-affected areas, five HROs in Tigray were rehabilitated with support for staff, equipment, and strategic documents. Psychosocial assistance was provided to ten HRDs in Afar, Amhara, and Tigray. A comprehensive conflict impact analysis resulted in a roadmap with six strategic recovery actions. Collaboration was strengthened through a joint shadow report to the UN UPR, two networking events with 50 CSOs, and initiatives promoting disability rights.\nImpact: Civil society has increased resilience, capacity, and cooperation.\n\nOutcome 2: Accountability for Human Rights Violations\nCapacity building included training 24 HRDs (mostly women) in Monitoring, Documentation, and Reporting (MDR) and investigative techniques. Four MDR grants enabled documentation of violations:\nCJ monitored childrens rights in prisons and published a report. DFA built MDR systems in Benishangul Gumuz and trained 30 HRDs. Gurmuu developed MDR guidelines and produced monthly reports. EHRCo focused on internally displaced persons rights.\nDtE pursued two precedent-setting environmental cases and trained 15 lawyers in strategic litigation.\nImpact: Local actors strengthened their ability to document and pursue accountability for rights violations.\n\nOutcome 3: Security and Safety for HRDs\nDigital security was prioritized through training nine HRDs as trainers. Seven conducted follow-up sessions reaching 75 HRDs and journalists, focusing on password management, two-factor authentication, and documenting tech-related gender-based violence. Physical and psychosocial security programs were delayed due to regulatory and safety constraints.\nImpact: HRDs improved digital security, though gaps remain in physical and psychosocial protection.\n\nOutcome 4: Influence on National Dialogue\nDespite political delays, HROs established mechanisms to monitor and influence the national dialogue. CEHRO developed a monitoring matrix and regional committees, submitting four human rights agendas to the commission. CARD published two reports on transparency and launched a petition with 3,000 signatures, prompting dialogue with the commission.\nImpact: Foundations for continued influence on the dialogue process have been established.\n\nOverall Conclusion:\nThe project achieved substantial progress despite a shrinking civic space and security challenges. Through capacity building, rehabilitation, networking, and strategic actions, HROs and HRDs have gained resilience, resources, and influence.
