From scoping cultivating support, to proof of concept, then learning by doing and then lab as an institution. \n\nThe best bets initiative which focuses on the most promising emerging innovations that have the greatest potential to scale. All prioritised Best Bets from 2024 advanced along the path to scale. \n\nLaunching of major new research initiatives: the world's first research for displaced population has been launched. \n\nExample of results mentioned in the report:\n\n- Dissemination event of results in Zambia (2400 children) Small-Quantity Lipid-Based Nutrient Supplements (SQ-LNS) impact on stunting: ready-to-eat nutritional packets that improve child growth have shown strong potential for nationwide impact in Zambia. IPA is now working with the Ministry of Health to define a government-led delivery model for SQ-LNS at scale.\n\n- Cognitive behavioral therapy to reduce crime: Urban crime and violence is one of the most costly and divisive issues facing cities around the world. Short-term studies have demonstrated that cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), a therapeutic approach to improving a wide range of harmful beliefs and behaviors, is an effective way to reduce violence and criminality among adolescents and young adults. To understand the long-term effectiveness of CBT among adults, researchers evaluated the impact of a short-term CBT program and the distribution of unconditional cash transfers on the behavior of high-risk young men in Liberia. Results demonstrated that CBT reduced criminal behavior among participants both in the short run, one year following the intervention, and the long run, ten years later. At both intervals, these results were greater for participants who received both CBT and cash grants, but cash grants alone had no impact. FID (final investment decision) approval to scale the innovative concept in Liberia.\n\n- Becoming One (BI): Couples counseling to reduce IPV (intimate partner violence): Scale-up of Becoming One in Uganda with World Vision, Church of Uganda, and ICM (international confederation of midwifes); Workshop and pilot to adapt and test B1 in Kenya.\n\n- Published  Multigenerational Perspective on Childcare review;\n\nFinancial report 2023 - 2025\n\nIPA has been affected by the termination of the USAID grant. \n\nSince the initial stop work orders were received in January 2025, IPA took action to reduce both fixed costs and variable country office costs by cutting all discretionary expenses (non-essential travel and meeting expenses, transition to a new intranet, implementation of a new system for direct payments). They have also reduced some staff to part time or reduced salary, paused recruitment for roles that are not absolutely essential for business continuity, and eliminated 15 global staff positions along with 13 project staff and over 100 enumerators. IPA has had to work in a more leand and efficient way. \n\nSida has provided core support to IPA - and thanks to the core support IPA has been able to continue its main operations during 2025. \n\nThe final financial report show that the estimated revenue during the period of the grant was approximately $161.7 million USD.
