Community Empowerment and Local Development\nThe programme strengthened local governance and community ownership of development processes.\nResults achieved:\n- Established and strengthened 9 Community Action Plan (CAP) Committees involving 180 community members.\n- Developed and validated 9 Community Action Plans (5 in Mueda and 4 in Metuge).\n\nThe CAP process strengthened community participation, accountability, and collaboration with local authorities, creating locally owned development plans that will continue to guide future interventions beyond the project lifespan.\n\n2. Food Security, Nutrition and Climate-Resilient Agriculture\nThe programme improved household food production and resilience through climate-smart and nutrition-sensitive agricultural interventions.\nResults achieved:\n- 810 farmers supported through agricultural and livestock activities.\n- 135 lead farmers trained in Good Agricultural Practices, agroecology, post-harvest management, integrated pest management, irrigation, and livestock management.\n- 675 additional farmers supported (seeds, agricultural toolkits, cassava cuttings, irrigation equipment, livestock, and veterinary kits).\n\n3. Livelihood Diversification and Economic Recovery\nThe programme created new income-generating opportunities for vulnerable households, particularly women, youth, IDPs, and returnees.\nResults achieved:\n- 4,302 community members registered and assessed for livelihood support..\n- 1,305 individuals pre-selected: 860 beneficiaries selected for Income Generating Activities (IGAs): 270 youth trained (entrepreneurship, market analysis, business planning, and legal aspects of business development): 261 IGAs funded.\n\n4. Fisheries Livelihood Support\nThe programme supported artisanal fishing communities to diversify livelihoods and strengthen food security.\nResults achieved:\n- 25 fisherfolk selected and trained in sustainable fishing practices.\n- Fishing kits distributed in the communities of Milamba and 25 de Junho.\n\n5. Disaster Risk Reduction and Community Resilience\nThe programme strengthened local capacities to prepare for and respond to disasters and climate-related shocks.\nResults achieved:\n- Established and strengthened 9 Community Disaster Risk Reduction Committees involving 162 members (60 women and 102 men): Provided smartphones to DRR committees to support early warning and emergency communication.\n- Developed local Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) plans.\n- Conducted climate adaptation and preparedness campaigns across all target communities.\n- Strengthened collaboration with INGD, INAM, SDAE, SPAE, and SDPI.\n\nThese interventions improved community preparedness and resilience to floods, droughts, cyclones, and other climate-related risks.\n\n6. Community Infrastructure and Essential Services\nThe programme supported investments in community infrastructure identified through the Community Action Plans and DRR processes.\nResults achieved:\nConstruction and rehabilitation commenced for 7 priority infrastructures, including: Community markets;\nBridge construction; Culvert construction; Dam rehabilitation; Borehole drilling and water supply systems.\n\nThese investments will improve market access, mobility, water availability, and climate resilience for target communities.\n\n7. Legal Assistance and Access to Rights\nThe programme integrated legal empowerment as a key component of resilience and sustainable development.\nResults achieved:\n- 4,302 community members reached through legal awareness and counselling activities.\nThis support helped address legal barriers that often limit access to economic opportunities and essential services.\n\n8. Emergency Response Following Cyclone Chido\nFollowing the impact of Cyclone Chido in December 2024, the programme rapidly activated its Crisis Modifier mechanism to protect livelihoods and support affected communities.\nResults achieved:\nMore than 3,000 households received emergency support.\n- Agricultural recovery kits and replacement seeds distributed.\n- Shelter and hygiene kits provided to affected households.\n- Community rehabilitation and debris-clearing equipment distributed through local DRR committees.\n- Support provided for the rehabilitation of critical community infrastructure.\n\nThis rapid response helped prevent further deterioration of food security conditions and safeguarded investments already made by the programme.\n\nOverall Achievement\nOverall, the programme has performed well and delivered substantial results despite the challenging operating environment. The consortium has demonstrated strong commitment and adaptability in achieving programme objectives and supporting vulnerable populations. Final results will be consolidated and validated during the programme closure phase, with a comprehensive assessment of achievements and outcomes to be provided in the final report due on 30 November
