It has started as a regional contribution benefiting 15 social enterprises in Brazil, Peru and Colombia (5 in each country). Later that year, a major amendment was made to include a component to benefit 5 more social enterprises in Colombia. The two cooperation teams complement each other and follow-up this contribution jointly.  In accordance with the partners June 2024- May 2025 annual report, the key results achieved through the contribution are outlined below:\n\nRegional component:\n\nThe narrative report presents a comprehensive analysis of each of the 15 social enterprise that is part of the regional portfolio, including the main progresses they made during the year, challenges and lessons learned. The report was accompanied by 5 annexes in which NESsT details the specific actions taken with each enterprise in the regional portfolio (considering that the enterprises in the bilateral were being selected during the first year of the reporting), then an annex on the communication strategy (posts and its impact) and finally, an annex with NESsTs Performance Monitoring Tool (PMT) measuring impact indicators of each supported enterprise. \n\nDuring the first year of the project, key insights on investment readiness and enterprise resilience were generated. At the regional level, the partner has supported 15 enterprises. 14 enterprises were evaluated for Due Diligence, 2,041 jobs created (42% women), USD 5.16 million in revenues generated with 8% profitability, and multiple climate and gender initiatives were carried out. The program demonstrably enhanced the investment readiness of participating social enterprises. Key achievements include:\n\n- Improved Financial Management: Several enterprises received targeted assistance to strengthen their financial management. For example, in Brazil, NESsT supported Plantus in improving record-keeping using the Conta Azul system, focusing on cost control and sales reporting. In Peru, Orígenes (CAOVL) received specialized financial mentoring and developed cash flow tools. These interventions are critical for attracting future investment.\n\n- Climate Resilience Initiatives: In Brazil, the program supported climate resilience initiatives. The reforestation initiative with Assoab and the solar energy project with Coopersapó are directly addressing climate change vulnerabilities. NESsT is monitoring these initiatives closely to assess the potential for scaling similar efforts across the cohort. Several enterprises implemented tangible climate resilience and environmental practices. In Brazil, Assoab planted 3,000 Brazil nut seedlings across 30 hectares to restore degraded land, while Coopersapó designed a solar energy project to overcome drought-related processing challenges. In Colombia, Agrosolidaria protected 2,600 hectares of Amazonian forest while expanding the commercialization of native species. In Peru, AFIMAD successfully diversified into Muru Muru production, generating cash flow while reducing deforestation pressures. Together, portfolio enterprises managed over 1 million hectares of land and advanced regenerative practices that directly address climate risks.\n\n- Training & Integration: the inclusion of environmental and climate change perspectives as part of NESsT's support indicates a commitment to building this capacity within the enterprises. In Brazil, the NESsT team developed customized priorities and action plans with the five SEs, also aiming to strengthen gender and environmental practices.\n\n- Job Creation for Women: Enterprises such as Maré de Sabores in Brazil directly trained and supported low-income women to build businesses, while Coopersapó empowered its female members through initiatives like a women-led collective kitchen. These efforts show measurable progress but also highlight the need to ensure that women not only access jobs but also equitable income distributioncurrently only 28% of supplier revenues go to women.\n\n- Setting Gender Priorities: Gender-focused actions were integrated across all SEs, reinforcing NESsT's commitment to gender equity and inclusion. These priorities were embedded in annual planning and tailored to each enterprise's needs. In Brazil NESsT facilitated training on sustainable practices with a gender perspective across the entire portfolio, aiming to include as many women as possible. The goal is to enhance women's technical skills and increase their formal participation in associations and cooperatives.\n\nThe program started to make connections for engaging corporations. The NESsT team is actively fostering connections among the SEs and between SEs and corporate partners with the support of Sida which has made the connection with Business Sweden in the Embassies of Colombia and Brazil and is planning to organize one for the supported enterprises in Peru. \n\nBilateral component: \n\nThe report clearly shows the rigorous selection process used to identify the five companies supported by Colombia's bilateral program. Working with companies that have received support from other partners adds value to this program because it builds on previous support. Additionally, we ensure that we reach target populations in conflict-affected areas, most of whom are victims. Therefore, the Embassy closely monitored this process.\n\nThe embassy appreciates NESsT's willingness to engage in dialogue with other Swedish partners and its capacity to adjust timelines and activities to the new selection process. NESsT also viewed this collaboration as a positive learning experience for developing a high-quality pipeline. If the program receives additional funding from Sweden or other donors, it would be beneficial to expand the number of partners for future cohorts.\n\nThe Embassy also valued the due diligence process carried out on the 14 initiatives that applied. This process resulted in the selection of the five best initiatives.\n\n1. Aprocasur in Bolívar; 2.  Ecoserrania in Antioquia, which was previously supported by Fondo Acción;\n\n3.
