The findings in these reports have been utilised by other UN entities, Ukrainian government and civil society actors as well as donors to inform decision-making and raise awareness based on verified and acknowledged impartial evidence. Media and news outlets are using the data and findings of HRMMU in their reporting. \n\nSince the beginning of the full scale invasion, HRMMU has documented 68,000 civilian casualties. From January to July 2026, HRMMU documented, verified and reported over ten thousand injured and eighteen hundred killed civilians by Russian attacks, an increase of 70 per cent compared to the July 2025. July 2026 was the month with the highest number of civilian causalities since March 2022. In July 2026, long-range weapons were noted as the leading cause of casualties (38 per cent of total), while short-range drones near the frontline reached their highest monthly level and caused 27 per cent of all casualties. HRMMU also noted an increase between June (12) and July (31) in Ukrainian attacks on energy systems in Russian occupied Crimea; while Russia continued their continuous attacks on Ukraine's
