The general public in India and Bangladesh has increased awareness of unjust power structures and acts to support rights holders in their efforts to claim their rights.\n\nTo achieve these goals, SIB works through awareness-raising initiatives, long-term support to local partners and community-based organizations, and capacity development. Through education, collective organizing, and various forms of direct support, target groups are strengthened in their ability to demand their rights. Direct support may include accompanying women who have experienced gender-based violence to authorities.\nThe initiative promotes efforts related to gender equality, food sovereignty, and sustainable livelihoods, with the aim that local groups will eventually act independently and drive change based on their own needs and priorities.\n\nThe project will be implemented in rural areas across five regions in Bangladesh and eleven states in India.
