The goal is for 20 women and youth to be trained, start and manage their own businesses, apply business planning and digital tools, strengthen their economic independence, and invest in family well-being.\n\nComponent 2 – Pilot Project for Productive Use of Energy Technologies (PUE)\n\nSolar Sister will introduce and test 16 solar-powered mills (Solar Mills) in various counties, with a focus on gender equality. Female entrepreneurs will rent the equipment, operate the businesses, and receive business support. The purpose is to explore the potential for productive use of solar energy in off-grid areas. Expected results include increased income generation, improved savings and access to credit, strengthened food security, and reduced reliance on fossil fuels.\n\nComponent 3 – Strengthening Capacity for Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL)\n\nSI and Solar Sister will develop an integrated MEL system to track results in both entrepreneurship and PUE. The system will enable evidence-based scaling and strengthen the organization’s ability to measure and communicate impact.
