However, a few adjustments were made to accommodate opportunities jointly agreed upon by HiH EA and Sweden to address unforeseen delays in implementation caused by the need to mobilize various collaborators and stakeholders. HiH EA also demonstrated flexibility in accommodating adjustments due to the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic from late 2019 to 2021. Additionally, a cost extension was facilitated to incorporate a COVID-19 adaptation element within the original agreement, involving the digitalization of value chain actors and their activities. Key results attained under these interventions include:\na). Outcome 1: Access to Information and Learning Enhanced \ni) A total of 16,914 members (12,560 female, 3,140 male, and 1,300 youth) organizations and clusters were formed, surpassing the target of 15,700. Additionally, 1,672 off-farm enterprises were clustered, exceeding the target of 1,300.\nii) 35 member organizations were supported in conducting needs assessments and developing training plans to address identified gaps. \nb). Entrepreneurial skills enhanced; on-farm and off-farm enterprises\ni) To improve market access and governance, 7 CBOs were converted into cooperatives, while 35 other CBOs were accelerated.\nii) To enhance enterprises' access to markets, finance, and drive growth, 35 enterprises were supported in developing viable business plans that they later used to access finance from financial institutions. \niii) Adoption of biodiversity restoration practices, including Circular Economy, Regenerative Agriculture (CERA), and Sustainable Land Management Practices (SLMP):\n- 15,950 project participants adopted at least one biodiversity protection\u002Frestoration practice, with 14 demonstration sites established as training hubs for agro-biodiversity practices.\n- 100 SunCulture and 25 SPOWDI irrigation kits, along with 216 bio-digesters from SistemaBio, were installed to promote the adoption of sustainable energy by project participants. This is an example of layering activities with other Sida funded project in Kenya. \nc). Access to financial services deepened \ni) Through linkages with financial institutions, 6,714 project participants (5,170 female, 1,544 male) accessed credit worth KES 93,299,777. Additionally, through HiH Enterprise Incubation Funds, 6,748 project participants (5,340 female, 1,408 male) accessed loans totaling KES 109,645,490.\nii) A total of 12,236 members were trained and linked with micro-insurance service providers, resulting in 3,946 policies being purchased. The insurance covers varied from crop insurance to health, livestock, and property insurance.\niii) To promote the adoption of productivity-enhancing technologies and green energies, 64 innovation grants worth KES 64,524,000 were financed through a cost-sharing model. These innovations have enabled the cooperatives to expedite their commercialization journey.\nd). Access to market improved \ni). Thirty-five enterprises under the accelerator cohort achieved a turnover of KES 92,173,744.\nii). 1,654 members were trained in digital marketing skills, resulting in sales worth KES
