The organization represents a global network of civil society organisations working to promote and protect the rights of older women and men in nearly 90 countries, with over 157 member organisations, the majority of which are located in Low and Middle Income Countries (LMICs). HAI works with a wide range of activities, covering advocacy, development and humanitarian operations.\n\nIn the previous collaboration (2015-2019), core funding from Sida supported a 5 year strategy (2015-2020) with a focus on income, health and care, voice and inclusion (gender and disability). During this period, HAI has specifically strengthened their work with health systems strengthening (also in collaboration with WHO), Non Communicable Diseases (NCDs), including mental health, and mainstreaming gender equality and inclusion (focus on disability). \n\nThis contribution refers to  core funding support from Sida to enable HAI to implement their new 10 year strategy (2020-2030). The 2030 strategy identifies 10 focus areas (including health and education) to achieve a positive impact on the quality of life of the poorest older people, with a focus on wellbeing, dignity and voice. Of the 10 focus areas, the 2020-22 planning priorities include: 1. Inspire a movement for change; 2. Promote age-inclusive systems; 3. Champion healthy ageing; 4. Deliver inclusive humanitarian action; 5. Challenge violence, abuse and neglect. Complementary to the Core Activities, additional support targets HAI's Global COVID-19 Response Plan. HelpAge har följande prioriterade områden: Ett samhälle för alla åldrar, hälsosamt åldrande, trygg inkomst, inkluderande humanitära åtgärder, rättigheter och inkludering samt klimatförändringar.\n\nHelpAge strävar efter att ha rollen som stödjande, sammankallande och tankeledare inom sitt nätverk av medlemmar.\n\nExempel på resultat av HelpAge arbete under 2024\u002F2025:\n\n- 9 nya medlemsorganisationer gick med i det globala nätverket HelpAge International som nu består av 208 organisationer i 99 länder.\n\n- 373 organisationer deltog i olika initiativ för att motverka åldersdiskriminering\n\n- 970 föreningar, med 68 000 medlemmar varav 62 % kvinnor,  och 8 000 medlemmar (12 %) med funktionshinder utbildades i äldres rättigheter\n\n- 25 000 äldre nåddes genom 11 projektstöd inom hälsa i 13 länder \n\n- 197 partnerorganisationer fick utbildning och tekniskt stöd\n\n- I Kenya och Tanzania drev HelpAge på för en ny lag och utvecklade en stadga vilket ger äldre människor möjlighet att hävda sina lagliga rättigheter,  \n\n- I Pakistan utarbetade HelpAge underlag till en lag om välfärd för äldre medborgare för Punjab-provinsen.\n\n- I Mellanöstern togs en guide för mänskliga rättigheter fram för att hjälpa regeringar och institutioner att inkludera äldre personer i beslutsfattandet i hela Gulfregionen.\n\n- HelpAge i Vietnam har genom mångårigt påverkansarbete och i dialog med regeringen bidragit till att Vietnam i juni 2024 antog en reviderad socialförsäkringslag, som sänker åldern för social pension från 80 år så att de mellan 70 år och 75 års ålder i fattiga hushåll också blir berättigade. Detta förväntas utöka stödet till cirka 1,2 miljoner äldre.\n\n- Över 200 000 flyktingar och internflyktingar i Etiopien nåddes av HelpAge humanitära insatser genom skydd, hälsovård, nutrition och WASH-insatser. \n\n- Efter 15 år av påverkansarbete har FN:s råd för mänskliga rättigheter beslutat inrätta en mellanstatlig arbetsgrupp för att utarbeta ett nytt internationellt rättsligt bindande instrument om äldre personers rättigheter.\n\n- Som ett resultat ALIGN-insatsen 2025, äldrehälsa i fyra länder,  har den tanzaniska regeringen åtagit sig att lägga till 17 åldrandeindikatorer i sitt hälsoinformationssystem -  första gången äldre personer har inkluderats på detta sätt.\n\nUkraina:\n* Som en del av ALIGN genomfördes en nationell forskningsstudie för att bedöma Ukrainas beredskap
