Resultat
The agreement with WRG for 2018-2020, was signed in July 2018. For a summary/examples of results that have been achieved in the previous phase please refer to the contribution number 54110045 (Water Resources Group 2015-2017). The annual report 2018 that was submitted in end of March 2019, WRG 2030 included the following results: - In total 746 partners are part of the work divided on 308 private sector, 154 government and 284 civil society organisations. - In total there has been 76 priority areas of work identified. 61 projects, programmes, reforms and financing mechanisms are currently under implementation gathering a total value of financing of 444 million USD. - All this together has helped avoid 152 million cubic meters of freshwater abstraction, reduce 233 million cubic meters of discharge of untreated waste water and increased cost efficient water storage by 14 000 meters.
The 2030 Water Resources Group (2030 WRG) is a public, private, civil society partnership hosted by the World Bank Group. The partnership supports country-level collaboration designed to unite diverse groups with a common interest in the sustainable management of water resources. The ultimate goal of 2030 WRG is to reduce the water gap and to improve water resource management in the countries in which 2030 WRG operates as well as on a global scale. Intended outcomes from their work in respective country/state are: - Increase in coordinated and collaborative action to resolve water issues and strengthen water policies and governance, informed by appropriate data analytics- Preparatory arrangements for implementation of proposals formalised by third party- Projects, programs, policy reforms and financing mechanisms under implementation by third party- Investments into infrastructure and technologies by third party. 2030 WRG three Strategic Priorities are: 1. Transforming Value Chains; 2. Promoting Circular Economies Through Wastewater Treatment and Reuse; and3. Water Security and Resilience Planning Its three Key Focus Areas are: 1. Urban Water Management; 2. Industrial Water Management; and3. Agricultural and Rural Water Management, across all dimensions of resource management: efficiency, loss reduction, treatment, reuse, etc.
