SWIFT is a comprehensive regional programme designed to address critical trade facilitation challenges across three major African trade corridors: Abidjan-Lagos, the Berbera corridor, and the LAPSSET. The overarching objective of the programme is to foster inclusive and sustainable economic growth by increasing international and regional trade along these corridors. In this regard, the programme aims to streamline Customs operations through simplifying, standardizing, and harmonizing procedures and information; improve trade inclusivity; improve trade infrastructure; and strengthen regional trade policy harmonization with the specific objective of contributing to increased cross-border trade and poverty reduction across the target corridors.
