Pink Human Rights Defender NGO (Pink) has applied to Sida for funding of 9 000 000 SEK, to carry out "Advancing the movement through sustainable development" project during the period of 2021-2024. The intervention aims to provide a programme support to Pink 1) to strengthen LGBTQI community and movement for raising the community demands and to empower actors of change; 2) to change the attitudes of the society towards LGBTQI issues through evidence-based communication; 3) to advocate for legal and policy changes for ensuring inclusiveness of addressing LGBTQI human rights; 4) to ensure the sustainability of the organization and staff capacity. The intervention will be implemented through a programme support to Pink and forwarding of funds to the third parties. The intervention’s total budget is 9 000 000 SEK, out of which the organization’s own funding is 8 000 000 SEK (800 000 USD) and the remaining 1 000 000 SEK (100 000 USD) will be forwarding of funds to the third parties.

Result
- Initiation and adoption of a draft stand-alone anti-discrimination legislation - "Law on ensuring the equality". which was a positive step from the government. - The list of aggravating circumstances for hate crimes became open which could also include the interpretation of the cases of hate crime based on sexual orientation and gender identity or expression. -Providing evidence-based model on the regulations and recommendations on mechanisms regulating the procedure on gender marker change.
Programme objectives The contribution aims to provide programme support to Pink's ongoing efforts to ensure protection of human rights of the LGBTQI persons through the following objectives; Objective 1: To strengthen LGBT movement through providing safe space, capacity enhancement and full package of services to LGBT people and empowering activists and NGOs for addressing the community demands Objective 2: To advance evidence-based communication on human rights and LGBT related topics through ensuring the continuous awareness raising and extending the collaboration with supporters, allies, partner organizations and coalitions Objective 3: To advocate for legal and policy changes for ensuring the inclusiveness of addressing LGBT human rights by using national and international advocacy mechanisms Objective 4: To ensure sustainability of the organization and staff capacity building.
