The Swedish Police Authority has been assigned by the government, through the ordinance on police peace support (1999:1155) and yearly regulation letters, to recruit and make personnel available for international civilian crisis management and peace support operations under the auspices of the United Nations (UN), the European Union (EU), the Organisation for Security and Cooperation i Europe (OSCE) or similar organisations. The OSCE Special monitoring mission to Ukraine (OSCE SMM) is one of the operations to which the Swedish Police Authority contributes with personnel.

Result
This mission was concluded during 2022 and only remaining disbursements were made in 2023. Thus no personnel from the Swedish police were active in the mission. During 2022, 2 Swedish Police employees were seconded to the mission until the mandate ended in March. One of them further assisted in the mission's closing down work units.
