Mercy Corps has submitted a proposal to Sida for funding for the project "Promoting Resilience for Returns and Host Communities in Ninewa" in Iraq for a three-year grant support amounting to SEK 64 200 000. The overall aim of the project is to support local development and peaceful environments, as well as the well-being of returnees and host societies in conflict-affected districts and sub-districts of Ninewa through psychosocial work for increased resilience, social cohesion and livelihood. The project is divided into three result areas. Objective 1: Improved psychosocial well-being for vulnerable adolescents and adolescents aged 10-24 years. Objective 2: Increased social cohesion between communities, including increased integration of women and youth in Ninewa. Objective 3: Increased economic resilience for young people through improved livelihood opportunities in three districts in Ninewa.
