As to dimension 1, the importance of positioning the multidimensional poverty approach in public spheres is still a challenge to be considered by CEDLA, although some advances have been made. For example, an agreement between CEDLA an the Social Sciences Department at the Universidad Mayor de San Andrés (La Paz) was signed to include on its curricula the multidimensional poverty analysis. Also, CEDLA promoted some seminars and workshops to open possibilities to debate about the causes of inequalities and multidimensional poverty. The dimension 3, related to care economy, is probably the most important expected result to be achieved by CEDLA. In the 2022, the initial steps were taken to generate the institutional conditions to obtain information and analysis on the use of time. These included conceptual discussions about the methodology and design of a time use survey. Initial contacts with researchers and experts on this topic were made. It is expected a more concrete development in 2023. Within the dimension 4, related to inclusive and sustainable development in the Amazon region, CEDLA formed an alliance with radio stations of the ERBOL's Amazon Network to create and broadcast radio programs based on both, knowledge generated by CEDLA, as well as from investigations carried out by ERBOL's journalists in the Amazon. These radio programs allowed the Amazon population to be aware of some ongoing activities that eventually may jeopardize their future: governmental policies in favor of intensive use of machinery in grains crops; incentives to increase exports of livestock related products, expansion of agribusiness towards the Bolivian Amazon; land use changes and agro-industry; impacts of gold mining in other related Amazon regions, etc.
The intervention has defined the following four dimensions of work and their corresponding objectives: Dimension 1. Public policies, poverty and inequalities. Objective: Annual analyses/evaluations of public policies and economic and social programs in relation to inequalities and multidimensional poverty in the country has been positioned on the public agenda. Dimension 2. Labor transformations and labor rights. Objective: More thant 100.000 workers of digital platforms (mainly delivery services) and 200.000 informal workers in the cities of La Paz, Santa Cruz and El Alto organize themselves to defend their labor rights, while opinion makers are aware of the need for social protection for such workers. Dimension 3. Care economy in the country. Shared responsibility among families, the government and the market. Objective: Social and/or women's rights organizations consolidate their proposals to reduce gender inequalities at work including paid and unpaid (domestic and care) work. Dimension 4. Inclusive and sustainable development in the Amazonia. Objective: Local CSOs debate and propose policy changes to improve economic, social and environmental development in the Bolivian Amazon region.
