- Elite survey and working group meetings (which have replaced the international workshop due to pandemic measures) have provided information on reasons of polarization and its solutions as well as contributed to the content development of the online tool and the design of the provincial workshops through analysis of the discussions by the project team. - Face-to-face survey presents comprehensive insight and analysis on social distance, moral superiority, political intolerance, identities and supra-identity, echo chambers and spiral of silence. The survey results were shared through an online meeting and covered by online, mainstream and independent media. Coverage of the results have contributed to the awareness raising on polarization as indicated in the theory of change. - The website turkuazlab.org serves as a comprehensive database and library on polarization comprised of domestic and international resources. The website also includes an online module through which participants interactively learn more about polarization and its impact on the society. The website also houses online interactive tools that allows individuals to assess their own role in polarization. Thus, the online content and the gamified tools both contribute to awareness raising and changes in perception. - Meetings with civic groups and provincial meetings have been designed to maintain further engagement with civic groups at national and local level, raise awareness through sharing of analysis, provide them the space to hear from others on their perceptions on polarization and together develop strategies to mitigate the impacts. Those activities are expected to have an impact on the perceptions of participants.
The project aims to create a deeper understanding on the sources of polarization particularly in Turkey, develop strategies for mitigating polarization and provide civil society organizations, political parties, media, educational institutions and other stakeholders with innovative tools they could use to overcome polarization.
