A report was produced and submitted and approved. Results from the Equity analysis were used to inform a second phase of the RMNCAH&N Health programme called People at the Centre of Health (PeaCe Health) Program. The analysis showed notable and consistent coverage improvements for most of the programs in the four provinces (Southern, Eastern, Luapula and Muchinga provinces), note withstanding the presence of coverage size variations by region, place of residence and social economic status. Notably, there seems to be significant improvement among the historically vulnerable populations such as the rural and not educated groups. Analysis at provincial level revealed variations within provinces where some districts and urban poor were consistently lagging behind for certain indicators. Further analysis of qualitative data revealed that, although the RMNCAH&N services were reported to have been available in all the four provinces, accessibility, and acceptability shaped use of high impact interventions within a well-established health care system and community linkages. The findings in this analysis suggest the need to intensify and prioritise primary prevention, which refers to intervening before health effects occur, through, measures such as vaccinations, altering risky behaviors, by strengthening district level health system.
Specific Objectives 1) To estimate national, provincial and district (selected) coverage levels of relevant RMNCAH&N health indicators; 2) To examine sub-regional, residence (rural-urban), socioeconomic, and age inequalities for selected RMNCAH&N health indicators at the national, provincial and district levels; and 3) To explore supply- and demand-side facilitators and barriers to availability, accessibility, acceptability and quality of care for RMNCAH&N interventions.
