Georgian Foundation for Strategic and International Studies (GFSIS) mission defined as not-for-profit think tank dedicated to improvement of good governance practises and introducing policy based decision making culture in Georgia through research and analyses, training of policy makers and policy analyses and public education about strategic issues - both domestic and international. GFSIS works with public servants, ethnic and religious minorities and other parts of the society, like political parties, journalists, Georgian orthodox church. The intervention is a core support to GFSIS. GFSIS work in three directions a) teaching and training, b) research and analysis and c) public outreach and awareness raising. The activities contribute to good governance practices and to introducing policy-based decision making culture. One of the objectives of the GFSIS is to support conflict prevention and peace building efforts in the region. Overall the contribution aims to contribute to common understanding of values and priorities that should guide Georgia towards its ambition towards European integration.

Result
This programme has shown clear and interesting results. One example is here given: MINORITY COMMUNITIES AND YOUTH National minority youth highlighted the value of meeting politicians for information exchange and establishing horizontal linkages. The project has facilitated interaction between local activists and political party youth, resulting in the establishment of networks and collaboration. Around 550 ethnic and religious minority youth were trained, for example: -36 high school students from a southern region attended 320 hours of intensive calculus training - 40 students and 8 school principals participated into two study visits to Tbilisi - 54 students from 2 schools received prizes for showing the best results in quiz competition and -10 regional small grants issued and implemented contributing to inclusive, transparent and accountable policy making.
The aim of the intervention is to improve good governance practices and to introduce policy-based decision-making culture in Georgia.
