This is a project support allocated to ICTJ (International Centre for Transitional Justice) in Colombia, aimed at: (i) Providing technical assistance to public institutions engaged with transitional justice mechanisms; (ii) Protecting victims' rights through strengthening Civil Society organisations’ transitional justice knowledge and advocating for policy reforms that improve the protection of victims' rights; (iii) Monitoring and analysing the application of the Transitional Justice mechanisms in Colombia; and (iv) Managing knowledge for wider and more informed discussions on Transitional Justice. This intervention builds on a previous support to ICTJ with ID-number 12073.

Overall Objective: Peace and accountability processes involving all actors to the armed conflict and criminal organizations in Colombia are implemented in a way that advances fulfillment of victims rights and guarantees of non-recurrence and contributes to achieving the transformations required in the country. Outcome 1: Different society sectors and institutional stakeholders contribute to advancing the judicial and extrajudicial mechanisms of the 2016 Peace Agreement and engage in efforts to address the root causes of the internal armed conflict. Outcome 2: Institutional and political actors involved in Total Peace processes incorporate best practices in conflict resolution and transitional justice that contribute to the design of confidence-building measures, viable accountability models and sustainable development initiatives in regions most affected by the violence.
