Result
The programmatic milstones achived under the WWJS programme are as highlighted below. 1. Monitoring and compliance visits were condcucted for 23 partners across the counties with a focus on auditfollow-ups, capacity gaps and capapcity development plans implementaion. 2. Monitoring, evaluation and learning training facilitated for partner organizations to address capacity needs and improve monitoring and evaluation processes. 3. Successfully commemorated World Environmental Day in Isiolo and Kajiado counties, with both events stressing on land restoration, drought resilience and inclusive policies for sustainable land management. 3. On capacity deveopment, all finance officer from the 24 partner organizations were trained on financial management and anti-corruption strategies, with specific focus on budgetary controls, financial reporting, compliance and anti-corruption measures. Kenya Revenue Authority officials supported in building the capacity of the partner staff on tax compliance. The CEOs forum, that brought together leaders from organizations was also facilitated during the period and focused on anti-corruption and criticality of collaboration among partner organizations. 4. Inaugural cohort of the NextGen leaders Fellowship kicked off during the year and is expected to conclude March 2025. This is critical in ensuring youth involvement in democratic processes at both levels of government. 5. Mid term evaluation was concluded in the month of November, and it provided a snapshot on the performance of the programme in the period between July 2022 to August 2024. From the evaluation report, it showed that the programme is in the right trajectory towards the achievement of the intended results and objectives. On financial and administrative updates, the below are the milestones registered have been realized: Granting- 80% (9,242,125) Capacity Development- 14% (204,653) Communication and Networking- 28% (505,455) Planning, Monitoring, evaluation and learning- 44% (460,921) Programme management- 62% (3,847,404)
The overall goal of the programme is to Advance Inclusive Governance, Empowerment, and Resilience of Communities Towards the Realisation of Human Rights in Kenya. The overall objective is to Enhance Agency of Rights Holders and Responsiveness of Duty Bearers in Defending and Upholding Human Rights. The strategic programmatic niche is within the following key results areas: Results Area 1 - Inclusive Governance & Democracy aims to strengthen community voice and agency in building responsive and accountable governance structures and processes. Expected outcomes under Result Area 1: (i) strengthening community voices in decision-making and development processes; (ii) increasing the capacity of the communities to demand and claim human rights, and (iii) Enhanced accountability by duty bearers toward responsible service delivery. Results Area 2 - Community Empowerment, Resilience & Adaptation aims to improve the resilience, and adaptative capacity of the community to environmental, and socio-economic disruptions. Expected outcomed under Result Area 2: i) Enhance adaptive capacities of communities to cope with the effects of climate change and other shocks from unprecedented disasters, and ii) Enhance capacity of the community to adapt to socioeconomic shocks Result Area 3 - Gender Equality aims to strengthen gender agency in society Expected outcome under Result Area 3: (i) Enhanced resilience against gender-based violence ii) Increased political inclusion and participation of women in political processes, and iii) Enhanced equitable and non-discriminative enjoyment of Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights. Result Area 4 - Networking, Linkages, and Movement Building aims to empower partnerships, networks, coalitions, and movements for sustained aggregate voice and action Expected outcome under Result Area 4: i) Strengthening effective citizen partnerships, networks, coalitions, and sustained movements, ii) coalescing voices and collective action toward strategic solidarity, iii) Enhanced strategic results communications, documentation, and dissemination of programme impacts and emerging insights, and iv) Strengthened leadership, foresight, and organisational sustainability Result Area 5 - Capacity Development aims to strengthen the internal capacity of ForumCiv and its partners to deliver on their mandate Expected outcome under Result Area 5: i) WWP III stakeholders strengthening organisational, programmatic, and thematic capacity, ii) Enhanced intergenerational mentorship and experiential learning for young men and women towards effective change-making and leadership, and iii) Partner organisations are more sustainable.
