Result
Under Output 1: Improved cross-river exchange of information, knowledge and experience on the export promotion mechanisms on the right bank, and awareness-raising on the opportunities provided by external trade agreements: 340 companies representatives have participated at various events related to the dissemination of information of foreign trade opportunities; masterclasses and B2B sessions were organized; significant results were achieved in enhancing capacities of social business and improvement of social entrepreneurship climate on the left bank. Under Output 2: Enhanced competitiveness and joint exports of business communities from both riverbanks through improved companies exporting capacities and cluster and value chain development, the Export Accelerator initiative continued for 18 companies in enhancing their export capacities and knowledge. The project is committed to the establishment and development of up to six pilot cross-river business clusters and during 2023 the methodology and roadmap were agreed. Under Output 3: Enhanced capacities for policy formulation leading to a conducive environment on both banks and reduction of barriers to trade and economic cooperation, the support was provided in the area of policy analysis and development for business enhancement and export promotion. This process involved deregulation, identifying barriers to export, understanding market trends and creating frameworks that encourage businesses to innovate and expand beyond domestic borders. AdTrade Project provided support to the Economic Council Secretariat to the Prime Minister of Moldova to deregulate and simplify SMEs activities. Under Output 4: Expand the MSME sector in the Transnistrian region and security zone via support to new or emerging businesses, in particular women-led and with impact on the most vulnerable (migrants, young people including minorities representatives, elderly people) a series of targeted activities aimed at supporting new and emerging businesses, particularly those led by women, and impacting vulnerable groups were implemented. Key initiatives included mentoring and coaching for women and vulnerable groups, MSMEs support programs for new businesses, and the development of STEAM projects. The MSMEs contest attracted 223 applications from aspiring entrepreneurs and MSMEs across the region. Notably, 126 of these were submitted by women (56%), indicating a strong interest and participation from female entrepreneurs.
The initiative will follow the general Project Objective as follows: Men and women on both banks of the Nistru River have improved livelihoods and living conditions, due to enhanced cross-river cooperation to access the opportunities offered by Moldova`s external trade arrangements, contributing to an environment of trust and cooperation across the post-conflict divide To achieve this, the proposed intervention focuses on delivering the following specific outputs: Output 1. Improved cross-river exchange of information, knowledge and experience on the export promotion mechanisms on the right bank, and awareness-raising on the opportunities provided by external trade agreements. Output 2. Enhanced competitiveness and joint exports of business communities from both riverbanks with a particular focus on cluster and value chain development and export promotion. Output 3. Enhanced capacities for policy formulation leading to a conducive environment on both banks and reduction of barriers to trade and economic cooperation Output 4. Micro, small and medium-sized enterprises across the Nistru river, in particular those led by women and benefitting vulnerable groups, are enabled to produce more competitive products
