Result
Vision: SVRIs vision is a world free from violence against women (VAW), a world free from violence against children (VAC) and other forms of violence stemming from gender inequality. Mission: To increase and strengthen action-oriented research and its uptake to improve and expand effective VAW and VAC prevention and response efforts globally. Objectives: Building evidence for change, the SVRI: - Facilitates the co-creation of VAW and VAC research, practice and policy collaborations for evidence building through SVRI grant making. - Ensures research addresses research gaps identified by the field, for the field. - Tests new approaches for evidence building for impact at scale. - Contributes to systematic evidence building with a particular focus on ending child sexual violence in LMICs. Empowering evidence builders through capacity strengthening, the SVRI: - Provides bespoke capacity strengthening and mentoring to SVRI Grantees. - Provides access to online courses, research methods and tools and datasets. - Models new approaches for capacity strengthening for research and impact at scale. - Grows the field for research through its SVRI Mentorship Programme. Creating collective impact through global exchange and partnerships, the SVRI: - Hosts the bi-annual SVRI Forum: Connect | Learn | Share. - Hosts and builds the SVRI Knowledge Hub. - Is trauma informed and is an advocate for self and collective care. - Fosters SVRI membership. Influencing and supporting structural change, the SVRI: - Engages donors and decision-makers on ethical resourcing and evidence-based decision making. - Promotes Feminist Funding via the SVRIs ethical funding for research in LMICs toolkit. Aims (expected outcomes): SVRI aim to: - Create a cooperative, nurturing field where information and knowledge are shared and individuals and organisations collaborate effectively with each other, including across fields and disciplines. - Generate and mobilise more resources and ensure they are used effectively for research and evidence-based practice in LMICs. - Grow rigorous research and innovations, tested by strong research designs for improved GBV response and prevention in LMICs that are replicated and taken to scale. - Increase the number of LMIC researchers leading impactful and innovative research on VAW and VAC in LMICs. - Increase the uptake of research findings among programme managers, funders, and policy makers for more impactful funding, policies, and programming in LMICs and beyond.
