The Goal of the Project Under this second phase of cooperation with SIDA, the AUDA-NEPAD/AFR100 Secretariat aims to accelerate the transition from commitments towards implementation by supporting the AFR100 countries in actualizing and scaling up their restoration commitments on the ground through various forest and landscape restoration actions. The actualization of the countries restoration commitments will contribute to reversing the negative impacts of deforestation and environmental and land degradation, realize healthy, productive landscapes, enhance the livelihoods of smallholder and rural producers, and subsequently build the resilience of rural communities in Africa, who are most susceptible to risk factors. Specific Objectives 1. Increased support to Women and Youth restoration entrepreneurs: Scaling up the Land Accelerator Programme (LAP). 2. Strengthening Community Resilience and Sustainable Land Restoration: Restore and protect ecosystems, increase carbon sequestration, increase water security, and soil fertility, provide more green jobs and incomes, improve food security and nutrition, and reduce migration. 3. Support to AFR100 Monitoring to crowd in and de-risk investment into FLR, build technical capacity in the country, create green tech jobs, and systematize AFR100 tracking and reporting.
