Result
The content of the agendas for the GdD, GCC and joint meetings was prepared by the G13 Permanent Secretariat. The G13 Permanent Secretariat (SPG13) proposed points to be discussed internally within the GCC. In addition, it was responsible for the format and design of the meeting agendas. THE G13 PERMANENT SECRETARY: a. Prepared the following documents: • Elaboration of a provisional calendar of meetings for each Presidency period. • Preparation of agendas for each meeting of the GdD and GCC groups. Final Narrative Report for the period JanuaryDecember 2023 • Creation of folders with content for the 26 scheduled meetings. • Registration of the list of participants and confirmations for each meeting. • Compilation of biographies of special guests to share with members. • Preparation of detailed minutes for each working meeting. • Maintaining an updated list of members of the different G13 Working Groups. • Generating a final narrative report for the Presidency period. • Monitoring agreements reached during meetings. • Preparing reports from the different levels of the G13 Donor Group. • Writing reports, press releases and any other information requested by the Pro Tempore Presidency of the G13 or any of its members. b. Participation of the SPG13 in meetings of the Working Groups: • Indigenous Peoples. • Gender Group • Food and Nutrition Security and Rural Development. • Petit Committee on Justice and Security. • Energy and Ecology • Health • Petit Committee on Elections. The Pro Tempore Presidency of Switzerland set itself the central objective of improving the dialogue between the G13 and the Government, involving other state institutions and various sectors of Guatemalan society on key issues during the second half of the year. To carry out this mission, the Embassy coordinated and supervised the holding of a total of 11 meetings, in which the following topics were addressed: • Candidates in contention, Analysis of the results of the first electoral round and Perspective on the second electoral round. • Analysis of the current situation and the latest events in the electoral process from the MOE GT, Analysis of the legal reading of the TSE and the Judicialization of the Electoral Process comments, Government program/main proposals and forecast of the relationship with the other branches of the State. G-13 is the coordination or the major donors in Guatemala. The members of G-13 are Canada, ltaly, Germany, France, UK, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, USA; and IDB, IMF, EU, OAS, UNDP and WB. The purpose of G-13 is to enhance the international agreements of efficiency of development cooperation and to promote a sincere, open and constructive dialogue with Guatemala. As of 2008 the group has a permanent secretariat administered by the UNDP and all members contribute to the financing of the secretariat. The Swedish contribution for 2023 and 2024 is calculated to SEK 70 000 (the calculated amount per year is abut US3,200.00).
