UNDP, National Demobilization and Reintegration Programme in Ethiopia

This contribution aims to implement the DDR process, and plays a crucial role in building trust in the viability of the CoHA peace agreement. Not least among those directly implicated such as excombatants and IDPs. The demobilizing of combatants, and reintegrating them in to society through various programs, help prevent the resurgence of armed groups and establish stability in the region. By successfully implementing the DDR process, communities can experience increased security, reduced tensions and start to build a foundation for sustainable peace as former combatants become productive members of society, contributing to the rebuilding and development of their communities.
