Result
The development objective of UFT 2.0 is to contribute to fostering trade in low- and middle-income countries that is green, resilient and inclusive which contributes to economic growth and poverty reduction. The work is based on three thematic Pillars: Pillar 1: Improving countries market access and deepening trade relationships Pillar 2: Boosting firms competitiveness and particpation in GVCs Pillar 3: Facilitating trade and strengthening its resilience Three outputs that will contribute to reach outcomes and the objective are: 1. Institutional knowledge and capacity to assess the implications and distributional impacts of evolving trade accession, openness and integration opportunities. 2. Institutional and regulatory framework, knowledge capacity and infrastructure to support firm trade competitiveness and value chain integration. 3. Technical assistance and capacity to implement and monitor border management and trade facilitation agreements in goods and services. In addition priority trade issues will be revisited every two years and for the first two years will focus on: i) the trade ecosystem resilience and diversification; ii) climate, environmental sustainability and social inclusivity; and iii) data and innovation-driven services.
